You sir have inspired me to get back to building my notchback in a timely manor. Much props for all the work you put in. Wish I could have done and learned to do bodywork on mine.

haha, Yeah all the panels were made. Ghia's arent that common in Canada as far as easily accessible parts go.Originally posted by TeckniX View PostThat's a lot of cleanup done to the Ghia - Were you able to source panels or you just created everything?
Not too familiar with the ghia, but is that a subaru engine swap? Why all the transmission tunnel changes?
Ahh I should read :[
Yes that is a Subie swap. 2.2 Turbo to be exact. I did a 3 inch transaxle raise for better oil pan clearance and not so much negative camber for how low I want to be.
My 1960 beetle was dumped and as any aircooled person knows, when you go 3 splines lower, the negative camber gets ridiculous. Also, since this car won't be "low and slow" anymore, I wanted as much tire/road contact as I could get.
Since the turbo is at the back of the engine, the firewall was in the way. So thats why I cut it out. I have a panel already made and ready to go in when its all done.
Thanks for browsing!

Last night I started to clean up the engine since the intake manifold is off right now.

Going to give it a final wipe down tonight and start cleaning the intake manifold and get it ready for some paint

and I'll put this here cause I friggen love how this shifter situation is. It feels so good shifting the gears... so solid. Soon I'll be able to clean up this area and make more presentable.
