Good job restoring the paint so far. Henna always looks good after a buff and wax.. Really like the wood accents too. Very classy.

Thanks! wish I had a bit more knowledge on exterior work- I'm a professional detailer but most of my training and experience is focused on interior work.Originally posted by E30cruiser View PostGood job restoring the paint so far. Been working on a Volvo lip for a bit, had to cut about 2" out of the center hole as well as deleting the large pop-out for the tow hook.
This is how it was looking after starting with the bondo(it is connected with more than just bondo).

And then finished waiting for paint.

And the only picture after mount(excuse the lack of front bumper)

Finally decided to paint the center of my steering wheel, it had been badly polished by someone before, and I also have great disdain for polished centers as they tend to blind me.
How it looked

After sanding and primer

Painted and then installed

My DSSR that had disappeared finally reappeared so I figured I would FINALLY install that along with my Delrin rear bushing from Condor.

After a lot of cutting and grinding I had most of the old bushing out

Then I used a vice to hold the bracket, line the area with some wheel bearing grease and hammered the new bushing in with a long socket and used a large dead-blow hammer to set it in.

Then I realized that the transmission side mount for the dssr was the wider of the two, and the 10 spares my buddy and I had were also the wider ones, I cut one to fit and bingo, perfect.

Swapped the diff as well, but no point for pictures haha. Went from a very, very old 2.93 open to the 3.73LSD out of my 5.0L car.
Also decided I ***** how quite it was with the small resonator to muffler, so off the muffler came.

Threw a quick coat of wax on the old girl, currently waiting for a bunch of parts from Pelican parts, so I'll have another update next weekend.

hey this is really neat! My good friend has an alpine weiss e30 coupe which he aptly named heidi also.
This has so many cool touches that not many would notice at first glance but you can tell you've put in some hard work to get it where it is...really shows on that paintwork and the whole setup, <3 meaty fitment!
Good luck with it mate

Some boring updates.
Cleaned up my engine bay a little bit. Took a pic in the middle of doing so, passenger side is done, driver's is untouched.

I had had a bad leak from where the coolant lines horse shoe around the vacuum line to the intake. Was going to loop it, decided since I had to order some things from Pelican Parts already I'd add that $2 gasket to the list.
Grabbed a spare TB in much better condition, and cleaned it up a bit.

And now much better! Cleaned the inside intake itself, didn't get a picture.

Drove fast, spilled my Ramen, I was devastated

And this is the main reason for my Pelican Parts order: My voltage runs anywhere from the acceptable 13.5V to 18V+, so time to order a new Voltage regulator.

So I got my two packages from Pelican parts. Both were from the same warehouse, for some reason a separate package was needed for this? hahah.

And now all the boring crap I got. Hood shock, Liqui Molly engine cleaner, coolant and intake gasket, exhaust hangers, voltage regulator, exhaust hangers blah blah blah.

One of the things I got was a new cover for the sunroof motor. Yep, 1984 with the original, still functioning electric sunroof
The old cover had broken clips and had been glued in, but fell out about a year ago. Was a bit $$ at $8, but I figured I'd spent that kind of money in dumber ways. So nice to have this in!

Time to tackle the alternator issue and the coolant leak.

Hmm, doesn't look like the normal Bosch unit... It wasn't
: It was the Valeo one, which uses a totally different Voltage regulator

At this point I stopped taking pictures as I had a few other issues with the alternator, gave up, fixed the leak and called it a day.
Gave the car a wash, slept then headed for my local C&C before heading up to Bimmerfest, some of my pictures and a few thanks to some friends.

On sunday I ate some food, then designed some stickers and had them printed by my good friend who does all my other stickers. These are for a friends car, but will soon be available on my BigCartel site due to how many people asked me for some hahah.

Some of my stickers... Though not even nearly all of them. Becausescenekid

Went to work and came home to this

Will update this weekend.

Hats off for the work done so far!! Looks awesome!
If this was in the UK there would be comments on tyre size as everyone likes to run the smallest size they can! But it just sits so perfectly and the little touches really make it!

Ask and yee shall receive.Originally posted by TeckniX View PostSo much win here.. It's amazing how clean she is now compared to before.
Now that you have no muffler, I think we need a new video
