  • Project Beatrix: A long time coming

After years and years talking about getting one i decided, on a whim mostly, to pick up a ruckus. Dubs Downtown was a little over a week away so i thought what the hell. lets build a ruckus.

On day one picked up a non-running 09 Ruckus with 1100 miles on it and brought it up to the Church of the Lowered where i run my wheel refinishing business out of and got to work with a couple of friends to get the bike running. After a new battery and a cleaned out carb and fuel line i was able to ride her around the parking area of the Church.

Day three was a bit of a bust due to USPS being quite late with my parts from DorbyWorks but i was at least able to inventory everything.

Day four saw a lot more work done. my buddy Devin came over and helped finish shaving by putting down some filler and sanding everything smooth. While he was working on that i started mocking things up on the bike so we would be able to work out how to route things before paint was sprayed.

And that is how she stands now, about 5 days from start to finish. these are so much fun to just cruise around on. sure they are not super fast but they are better than just about anything for relaxing on a sunny afternoon. too bad it is now in the 40s here in MN so i haven't been able to ride her much. Over the winter she is getting puller back apart for a lot of little touches to finish out the bike and have her ready for the show season next year. I am going to be sponsoring a lot of shows in the midwest with my company That Wheel Guy and so this will be coming with me in the van along with stacks of interesting wheels.
