I say no to the flares because they would look off on a silver car. If they were molded in they might be able to be pulled off on a light colored car but I **** the exposed rivet look on a clean car

Damn, current setup looks amazingly good, but don't do fenders on a E39 :-/ .

The flares really makes the car look a lot more agressive and it works nice. I just don't like the fact that it isn't smoothed out with the rest.

Thanks for the kind words peeps! I pulled (destroyed) the fenders enough that they don't rub anymore. Money is tight and I doubt I'll be able to order my bws until a couple more paychecks. but looking down the road.. I just got some silly ideas. My friend showed me this car and it got me thinking.

I never wanted fender flares because I didn't think they look that great with the lines of the e39 but his look SO mean. http://jdmflares.com/products/Wide_ZG_Flares.html
Here are the flares. They're actually super cheap, 250 for the fiberglass ones. This would obviously require a wheel rebuild.

    Thoughts anybody?

Nothing too new but figured I'd add it to my thread. I lowered the front about a half inch and lowered the rear as low as it would go before I tore my old sidewalls anymore. I also got a smaller tire in the rear (old:245/40 new:235/40) to reduce rubbing until I order my BWS.

Here are couple pics from the other day when we had some of the nicest weather yet this year.
