Thank you sir. GroupB vibes era are strong. And to be honest I am seriously thinking of going this route on the B7 as well. Just not sure if 18 or 19 is the way. Still unsure.

    To go along with this

In other news, the Golf was forgotten in terms of new parts, so let's do something about that. Orders were made.

    Boxes arrived.

    Unpacked all four

    18 inch, Rota D154, 8,5 width, ET45, 5x112 for the Golf.

    Had some custom decals made

As i always say, wheels are like shoes in people. They can make or break an outfit.

Been a while since i uploaded anything for this car. However i still have it and it running great.

Among other things i received for the other cars, there was this key cover made in cf for the golf, and also i have the OSIR buttons installed.

And then some interior going, mostly clean in here, but still, all rubber seals needed some going over to keep em fresh for time to come.

    Had an idea.

    Took some measurements.

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Looked doable

Ordered new Audi caps, and custom painted them in red

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Went from this

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    To this

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Subtle, yet makes a difference. Exactly what I wanted.

    Cheers guys

HELL YEAH. I knew it there was something about it, I knew something with an eye would get it.

I think colourmatched wheels with red caps and either silver or gold audi rings will make them pop out even more.

Given the fact that acquired another project car, I rearranged some things.

So I went from this custom biller shift knob

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

To my previous beloved sparco one which looks great in the Golf

Also, because I am using the golf 18'' wheels in the A4 currently I swapped the Audi 17in wheels for now. Which at first were very weird , but currently they are not as bad as I thought. Plus, they offer a serious sleeper look status, which I totally love and have fun with when i take it out for a drive.

Here is how the swap story went so far.

The center caps could not be snapped on, due to the stud conversion I am running they werent deep enough.

So instead I found some audi caps I had laying around and popped them on

    Aug21 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Hmmm not so bad

Let's give the car a proper clean to see how it looks

    Polished the backbox once again

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Came out nice

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Took it for a spin to grab some photos

You would never guess this runs a GTX3076 with an external wastegate pipe screaming on WOT, would you now, be honest

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

To be honest, I might even go as far as colour matching these wheels and adding red Audi caps in the center.

    Who knows we shall see.

    Cheers

Thought I had updated some things here but again I see that I havent so lets fix that.

We were at the point, that I had bought the headlights and was about to install them.

    So let's get to that.

In this car, sadly, in order to remove headlights, you have to remove the front end basically.

    Started with this

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

I ***** the years that went by with these ballasts of HID kits. Never again I think

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Grille removed

    Hello mishimoto

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Bumper removed

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Polished the charge pipes while i was there

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Out they went

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Enjoyed the part of cutting zip ties so much

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    So much cleaner

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Threw the first headlight on

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    And then both

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Everything worked great as it should

    Buttoned everything up

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Did some fast height adjustment

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

And here are some finished photos. Love how it came out, clean.

Like I said before, one of the most entertaining things to do during the lockdown, was ordering stuff online. LoL

    So this came in

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Had plenty of things inside it, for both the daily cars

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Fire extinguisher was refurbished for the year

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    And put in place

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Bought a set of neat cases for my ctek chargers, one in each car, and they look fantastic and classy

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

I also bought a retro label maker and went nuts on multiple things

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Some lamps for the New headlights as well

    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

And then it was all about installing them on the car, which requires some work on the mkv golf, sadly

    Cheers
