    • Well engine needed some love , and I intended of giving it to it

Dirty parts are not my thing

      So I started washing parts

      Look at this side before

      And after

Again, didnt go crazy, just wanted to improve the overall result, and also make it nicer to work on

Cleaned the ventilation of the valve cover

      Removed this

And I will also remove the crane hook once engine is in for a cleaner look

Spotted more areas that needed attention

So had a go at them too

      Better

      Looking better already

      HPFP cleaned too

New Rollers and belt kit installed

      New bearing

And yet a whole new bunch of parts today

New side caps that are separated for easier inspection

      New Bov

New plugs and oem wiring that was broken

      New crankshaft pulley bolts

      Installed

      One sidecap installed

      second installed

One nipple from the N75 was broken so I took the GT one, which was the same

And also installed my GT A/C Compressor

On another note, I decided to re-do my fog lights in the legit way with this

Came out great, as expected tbh

      More to come

      Cheers

            • So not many things done, mostly parts gathering, and yet still not all is here yet.

              Got new Flywheel bolts

              More RS4 Parts

Installed my fog lights back on

I still havent sourced the ECU and Gauge Cluster and some more wiring harness that I want. And that is an issue I will have to address if I want to get the car moving again. We shall see.

              Cheers

                Link

                  • First of all some more new things

This one, the plate that goes between engine and transmission, that took 5 days to get here - f*ck it

                    Fresh Axle Bolts

                    Spark Plugs

                    Axle Bolts Connectors

                    Wheel Hub Bolts

                    Crank rear seal

Sourced the tacho I was after, with the big MFD screen like I have on the GT

                    ECU

And took everything apart on the donor car to get what I need more or less

Engine was the lifted, oil changed, oil filter and I gave a bit of love to the block which looks pretty good it seems

Then , changed the crank rear seal

                    Out with the old

                    In with the new

Changed this, which was tired and broken

And also installed the RS4 valve

Hopefully more tomorrow, and I hope it wont be long till engine is in my car

                    Cheers

                      • So . . . more updates today.

Received an exceptional package from my friend Andy @ Dazzle-Car .

Got some more boring bolts, for the hpfp and for the side cover too

                        Transmission was thrown on

And hpfp would be installed next along with some work on the wiring

Fixed all the broken conectors, like this, using of course my beloved tape

                        Oem style all the way

Then had to remove the oem GT gear linkage system, and replace it with the oem GTI linkage system. In order to do this, I had to release some nuts from the interior of the car. And in order to do that, I had to remove the center console. But to remove that, I had to remove one seat.

                        RECARO wasnt happy

Result of the above story, is this mess I made. Dont worry, I took it all apart, so I know how everything goes back in

                        Up it goes

                        Old ones in situ

                        Removed

                        Disconnected

                        From this

                        OEM radiator removed

                        Let's go for a ride

                        Lift Up

                        Landed

                        Secured in place

                        Me Likey

I also cleaned and modified a GTI OEM engine cover

And threw it on for fun

Not gonna stay there though. LoL.

                        Cheers, more to come.

                        Mike

                        • So picked up from where we left. More work was done on the car

                          Coolant tank installed in place

                          Gear linkage connected

Heater hoses from GT, customised and installed

3in Decat Downpipe installed in place and joined my 2,5in catback which will be replaced when hp increases in the future to come

                          Didnt like these bolts here

So replaced them with brand new

This little plug here is easy to brake

I did hit it hard while the engine was getting in the engine bay, and although i think it will work . . . I couldnt let it be . . .

Sadly it comes with the whole valve which costs a lot

                          Damn expensive mistakes I guess.

Can you believe these wire and sockets cost 50euros ?

I know I cant to be honest.

                          Out with the old tacho

                          Guess which one goes in

                          You guessed it correctly

Sit Back and admire what you've done

Then I did some work. No, then I did A LOT of work, on the donor car, exposing the wiring to see what I might or might not need.

There are some plans on how to continue from here on, one plan is taking everything apart from both cars and switching wiring from one to another and not cutting of any kind. The other is to see what is missing from canbus-engine-ecu-interior and just move those. We shall see

Then I cleaned an area in the hood

                          And started doing work

Took my time, to make sure it will come out perfect

                          Halfway there

                          Almost there now

                          Job Done

Yeap, I think I like it a lot. Hope you do too guys

                          Cheers

                          Mike
