  • My 40 year old Macaroon. w114 build! (college student budget)

So my name is Kamil, I'm 20 and I just bought this 1974 Mercedes 280 shortly after selling my E30.

This car is extremely clean! It is a single owner car with 78k miles on the clock, the PO really took care of it because the interior is just as good as when it left the dealer, while not my favorite color combo I am absolutely in love with it.
Short list of things to do includes:
Adjust the points ignition(car is absurdly slow because the PO put the distributor together wrong)
fix the small rust buble on the wheel well.
look over the suspension and replace all bushings and ball joints.
Overall I'm looking to go airride with it in the short future. I just need to research some more because information is so scarce for these old things
I'm already on the hunt for a m117 motor out of a r107. Let me know what you guys think!

You'll learn to love the white, so easy to correct it with good detailing products. Hit up openroadtuning for the air ride questions. Also skip the M117 and just go straight for a domestic V8. The M117 isn't powerful (had a '86 560SL for 2 years), and the swap is a wiring nightmare. You can get much better power, and efficiency out of say a 5.3 liter v8 out of a tahoe. Not to mention you can actually find 4,5, and 6 speed manual transmissions for the engine.
