Yardie Gold A 940 Turbo

Hi all my name is Jonathan and i've owned around 17 or so volvos ( can't get enough).

I went through a few volvo models. It started with 2 99 xc70's and then progressed to 2 98 xc70, 2 S70 T5, a s70 N/a, a 94 850 n/a, a 94 850 turbo, a 940 non turbo, a 91 940 se, 92 245, a v90, a 92 940 turbo (the current car), a 964, an n/a 940 parts car and my other car in the stable my 16v 945 Gle. Here are some pictures!

haha they're the best man! A little hard to find wheels for, but that's nothing a set of adapters can't fix!

So i ended up settling on buying this car




It was decent in the pictures but the paint wasn't the best. Didn't care much though as I'd still make it look cool.

Ive spent the past 2 or so months collecting parts for it.

My first purchase for the car was an IPD 25mm rear sway bar. It made a huge difference over stock.

Then since my shocks were blown I replaced them with a set of bilstein Hd in the rear. That also helped firm up the ride.



here you can see the stock waterfall grille and the turbo grille before I modified it. keep in mind i was taking care of the looks of the car first, I know I know performance first.


this is the by product of the combination.


Well in searching I found an M90 transmission for a sweet deal that I couldn't resist, so I snagged that up too.


I ended up getting a second one, that i need to ship as well!


Volvo S60R k24 turbo that i picked up off craigslist for a rediculously good deal.


Bought a seat off of craigslist for a sweet price.


This is how the car looked before I put my decor panel and 960 outer tail lights





I got tired of the steel sun roof and put in a glass one from one of my parts 960's

The Plans for the car as it sits right now are;
Swap the new engine in.
Bolt the k24 up.
Swap the axles out and weld the diff.
collect the transmissions.
Eventually swap to an irs rear end.
Change the front end or get a 93 850 bumper and see what it looks like.

bought an IRS subframe.
and going to get that sand blasted.

Swapping body panels between the two cars.


and this is the spare engine I'm putting into the car.

also planning on getting a set of 16x8 a.r.e.'s for the front hopefully.

Going to be updating this soon. Did some maintenance so the car doesn't sound like a diesel anymore.

Tidying it up and possibly painting it soon. Will post pics of putting the turbo on.

You and I aren't much different. I've had about 12 volvos, and they start out a lot like yours did. I even had an Identical v70xc damaged in the same way.
I like where this one is headed. Keep it goin!

got mad plans and ive got a few months to put it all into action.

ok so this is what's happening tomorrow.

Fittipaldi wheels come off to get shipped.
- Headgasket gets done.
- RSI stage 2 cam goes in. Hopefully the K24 from the S60R goes in too or it'll be pointless.
- MBC?
- Welding in brackets for the sparco seat and the cobra seat
- Cutting springs for now.
- IRS swap by the following week, this one may or may not happen next weekend.
- bypassing the heater core.


If all goes well i'll be picking up a 740 16v m46.

Awesome! Im loving the way Volvos are just popping all over stance works! Damn, Ima have to sell one of my Volvo's, use the money to buy a bunch of parts, and start my own build thread for one of my 850's haha. This is just fantastic! Nice collection btw lol.
