  • My 1964 Mini

    So here's my project.

I started off with a fairly solid, but average looking '64 Morris 850.
I have previously owned a newer classic mini, but i always wanted an early one for the simplicity of them. You get a headlight switch, a wiper switch, But that's it. No electric windscreen washer, sliding windows, no radio, no fan. Who needs all those modern luxuries anyway..

The plan was to build it to be my version of a 1960s weekend racer. Nice and low, with a decent amount of camber. With a few little modern touches.

Any way here's the pics of what i started with

So then i started the strip down

    Back to bare metal

    On with the primer

Then lots of rubbing and repairs

Here it is all rubbed and masked up ready for paint.

I decided to use the original colour. but in 2pack.
    Here it is all painted.

Then i pulled off the wheels and stripped and painted them.
10x5'' inch rims aren't exactly stance-worthy, but for the 60's look they are a must.

Then i started the big rebuild of everything.

the new interior . Cobra Classic RS seats.

Then i started fitting it all in

and Now here's the (near) finished result

I still need to set the suspension up. I am going to dial in a bit more neg camber on the front. but i want it to sit around the current height.

I know its not the Normal Stance car on here. But hopefully you like it. I know i do

It's always good to see an 850 grille! Are you going to have a moustache too?

Nah, the one it came with was damaged from a previous accident. One I fixed the front properly, it wouldnt fit anymore. So im going to leave it off. I kinda like it without it. Looks a bit more simple now.
Yea, I like the 850 grills too.

This has made me really want to get another Mini. Maybe one day I'll get one that's rust free!

I love this car. I've been drooling over it since I first saw it over on TMF. Great work.

Do you have discs or drums up front? Any idea on the offsets on those wheels?
