Morning again, thought I'd saunter over and post up my '98 MK3 GTi 16V. Picked her up about 3 months ago off a fella from a local forum, he's owned this motor twice he liked it so much.
1st ever VAG I've owned. The opportunity came up to buy it, and I had to take it. I'd been waiting for a 16v MK2 to crop up, but I'd always had a soft spot for MK3's. Didn't take much convincing to ring up the insurance company to sort out some cover!
Plans? OEM all the way, I'm a sucker for the OEM way. The Recaros are superb, really comfortable. Tidied up a few bits and pieces so far. Nothing much more planned this side of winter. I'd like to source a vento conversion, and possibly some Eibach lowering springs, nothing too drastic, about a 20mm drop would be sufficient. There are uprated Bilstein shocks in at the minute to firm up the ride moreso.
I'd love to figure out some OEM VAG wheels as the Long Beach ones on at the minute might be demoted to winter wheels.
