  • 92' E30 Convertible Rebuild (Tons of pics)

    OK, here is the project

    1 month ago:

    Right now:

First of all, let me introduce our self. We are the a 2member team (i know its funny but yeah, we call it team) which we are proud Persians!
I (Moe) do mechanic and electrical jobs and my buddy (Pouria) do all the cosmetics.

Here is the story, 6 months ago we found a deal on one grey 92 E30 convertible auto which had some dings on the body!
    Simply, we bought it!

Here are the very first pics of the car:

    Okay, lets get to work:
doing the bodywork as much as possible (PITA) and rest of it with bodyfiller to take care of the minor damages

Yeah the coupe one is another project...

Passenger side body work done, its time to shoot the primer coat:

Just bought a set of wheels (15x8, i have no idea on the offset):

      Update #2

While the hood is not on the car, its time to take the engine out overhaul it, paint it, and do a quick 5speed conversion!

The car is on the jack stands, we got engine hoist, more than enough tools and couple cans of NOS energy drink...
      lets do it

Ok, engine is out, autocrappy transmission is off and thanks god
Pouria took the intake manifold and valve cover to paint it (lets see what color is his mind)...

Bottom end inspected, still is healthy so we dont need to change anything, BUT, on the head everything is brand new now (valve guides, stems, seats, rockers, seals and the gasket).

Pouria just finished painting the intake and the valve cover, here is the final result!

      its sexy, isnt it?

Getrag 260 mounted, valve cover and intake is on the engine again! block and exhaust manifold has been painted too (high temperature paint) + all the hoses and vacuum lines are brand new now!

      How it looks?!

Redline MTL for the tranny and Mobil1 20w50 engine oil!
