First Car?

Whats a good first car for me? a car that i can do quite a bit too. i absolutely love e30's but its so hard to find a decent one here in new jersey. i think ill be able to spend around 5,000 at most on a car starting, then i can put money into it from my job. thanks a lot

Wrong section, this is for builds not chit chat. Decide for yourself don't take anyone's advice.on this you will be the one stuck driving the car. Make a list of 2 or 3 models you would like, then research their pros and cons. Hunt craigslist until you can find a clean example of your choice{this may take moths) do not get discouraged.

Obviously your younge so I'll cut you a little slack here. You have the right idea picking a forum of your particular taste and asking some question however this is the wrong section and this is a Very broad question. Everyone is going to tell you something different pretty much making this a useless thread.
My advice is just do some shopping around and once you have it narrowed down to a couple cars ask our opinions about those particular cars in the off topic section. Here's the link

To answer your question when I think of good cars in the 5k range I think about 98-2003 Audi A4's, 3 and 5 series BMW's, and VW Jetta/GTI's. As mentioned before that is just my opinion and ultimately the choice is up to you.
