The Saga of the E21 with a side of e46

Well, I kept getting the feeling that Bimmerforums was mostly older dudes with stock M3's that dont really dig low things or people that modify anything past OEM+, so i figured i should bring my thread over here. so for those that want the short unabridged story. the stock 1.8 was bad and i replaced almost everything from the firewall forward and got it street legal, basic plan is to dump it down on the Exim 13's for a little while until I buy a house and start saving again in the mean time i plan on doing some general upkeep on it. as for the e46, well its the daily driver and possibly the down the road project after i finish up the e21

they're not the OEM wheels though! there old EXIM meshes not the iS meshes. i bought them under the impression they were either Mahles or iS meshes. I'm quite fond of them either way. a local dude i know has mims i want (they kinda look like Alpina's) but theyre silly hard to find

any who. the e21 is kind of at a standstill i need camber plates and tires for it.

Well as of this last Saturday I have camber plates and tires. so I decided to stop slacking and work on the e21. got my fresh rubber mounted and my camber plates in. and that's where it took a turn for the "worse"

got bored and hacked a few coils out. (don't worry ill replace it with legit stuff down the road)

either way the old goat needs an alignment before any serious amounts of driving, (but that's this weekend FTW)



ALSO: does anyone know how hard of a hit e21 LCA's can take before they break? I know I need to notch the subframe eventually but I just want to see how long I have before I need to worry about LCA'S

well the e46 has stepped into the role of project today. both rear wheel bearings are toast so that's fun. and ive been contemplating ordering wheels for the e21. was thinking about 15's or 16's x8 and or x9

bimmerforums is full of a bunch of purists... its annoying. E21 looks good, You could tuck the front bumper for now, here is howit looked on mine.

Bringing this back from the dead to report some new things.

Whilst bored at a friends house I slapped on his wheels with his spacers and things.im still searching for fitment photos with his setup



which got me stoked for this. yes they are replica's but the only reason why I got them. Mtechnica didn't make 15's if anyone can contact them id love to run them but I searched for awhile and didn't see them.



come april I should be on this setup with some other fun stuff along the line.

well fuck its april and I failed again. didn't have 2 tires so the e21 has gotten some new things but its missing two key components. either way rear fitment is dialed in, my sunroof visor is on and all 4 mudflaps are on the car (thanks, Neek). what do you think? sorry I don't have any good photos yet but this may work?
