  • My not as cool as everyone else's MK4 Golf build (does anyone have 56k anymore?)

So I guess I can go through and gather all my pics from vortex and post a log here too!

So I got this 01 Golf back around the 24th of April and pretty much got to work with it.

Started de-ricing it some by getting rid of the stickers and green emblem up front, also picked up a stock steering wheel and bag...

Spent a while cleaning the interior. Here is one of the door panels, the rest were worst, A LOT WORSE.

    Before

    After

    Picked these up...

    18x9 Style 5 Reps et30 w/ 5mm spacers, so et25 final squared, 215/40/18

    Got my coilovers on...

    Before

After (without helpers, I was rubbing fender while driving out of my garage LOL)

    After After

    Deleted SAI/EVAP etc.
    Self-made block off plate...

    During...

    After...

    Stock hood:

Rerouted the harness on top of the intake to the bottom:

    Washer res gone:

    Battery to the hatch:

Pulled the trans due to the diff pin creating a hole ::

So I was itching for something to do while I was waiting on my clutch, so I stripped the nightshades off my tails and fender markers and went all red on the tails..

    Nightshaded tail

A little carb cleaner pulled that crap right off

    New Nightshades trans red

    Result

Finally the clutch came in and I was able to get my trans back in. Also got my 3" TB exhaust, :R32 headlights and Euro switch.

    Euro switch...

    Headlights...

Finally dropped the car off at the shop to fix the quarter panel....

I pulled out the helpers up front and the sleeves in the rear to get more low. Also got a killer deal on a rack that I couldn't pass up. Hoping to get my tune and FMIC next month.

    Oh hai! New front end....

I trimmed my rear valance for my tip until I decide on what I am gonna do for the rear. Also plasti-dipped my grill and rear valance since my front valance is black now.

And that is where I am at today! Plans include....

    4motion front valance
    20th AE sides
    20th AE rear valance
    Euro front rub strip
    Badgeless grill
    Moar low
    And some Performance goodies!

GREAT COME BACK!! thing needed major help! but i think that zender bumper could have worked with a stock or badgeless grill and shaved vents on the side.gave it a mean look. i would have done it instead of the jetta front end.other then that looking good!

Thanks!!! I didn't mind the bumper to much, but I had wanted a Jolf/JTI since way before I even got this car.

Thanks, I would have been better off starting with a 100% stock one but I wanted a Golf with the 1.8t and they only made them from 00-01 so they are not easy to find. Plus I wanted a slight challenge.
