Got this on its new boots properly for the first time. It doesn't like coming off the drive!!

I'm really really happy with how it's turned out. Still lots to do but the general look is there now.

Wheels will be getting mirror polished properly

    Splitter needs painting

More thorough under bonnet tidy up

    All red rear lights

Maybe a set of smoked crosshairs

Going to do fiberglass and repaint the bumper trim to delete the washer jets.

    Manual conversion eventually.

    Hope you like it

Good news! My adapters showed up

    Bad news, they don't fit!

They fit on the BMW hubs perfectly, but the studs they have put in the hubs are M14 rather than the M12 which would have made life easy...

Was really, really close though so I spoke to a few of my friends who are pretty skilled fabricators and they told me drilling the centres to take the M14 studs was the best solution. Got on the phone to my friend who works at a performance Subaru garage to see what he thought and he told me to go down and use their pillar drill. Paid the boss of the place £20 to do it properly and now we're all good.

The fit is snug on both sides so I'm happy. Bolts are a bit of a nightmare. I need 20 M14 nuts to go on the studs in the wheels, and I need 20 extremely shallow headed M12 bolts to go through the adapters into the BMW hubs. Cheapest I've found so far is £1.75 a bolt for the shallow head ones like these:

And £1 per wheel nut, for the M14 studs. £55 on bolts.. Does that seem about fair or should I shop around a bit?

When my primer comes I'll get the centres painted and all built back up. MOT day is close now!

Thought this was due an update!

When I was fitting the front coilovers I noticed some of the track rods had perished boots and stuff so I ordered a front end kit from Germany, that showed up yesterday so I took advantage of working nights and it being dry for a change and cracked on with it, got the drivers side done yesterday and the other side today.

While I was doing that, these showed up.

Nankang NS2's, seem to have pretty good reviews and they stretch really well! I've gone for 215/40/17s out back and 205/40/17s up front, the rears will look like this haha

Part of me wants to justify it by saying that my PLS's are going to hang out like a flashers dick so the stretch is necessary, but the reality is I just think it's gonna look class haha

You can see in the picture above how I'm getting on with my splits.. I bought a drill and a polishing kit and have been slowly refurbing them. I've kinda given up now, just going to build them back up and do a bit of this when they are on the car

Took the front splitter off so that I could replace the grills in the front bumper, now that it's off I'm in two minds about keeping it off.. it means I can go a lot lower and get the stance just right, but on the other hand I like the splitter. So I'm really not sure what to do, and my friends have given pretty mixed feedback.. What do you think?

I could try and make a one off shallow Alpina splitter, but it seems a shame to cut up a genuine Alpina part when I'm not exactly 'good with my hands' and it'll end up in the bin.

Anyway, after chatting to ,y mates about the wheels, giving them a few things I fancied and seeing what they prefered, the majority were saying body coloured centres. I figured it was a good idea as I could use the paint for rust repairs elsewhere so I ordered a litre of 139 Bronzitbeige.

    Showed up today

Considering it needs to be used with a white primer (which I've ordered) I am pretty happy with the match on a black plastic lid. Won't know until it's on but I think it should be okay.

Also ordered some plastic spray paint to redo my bumpers, I wasn't happy with t he durability of my Plastidip attempts, and the Plasticare I ordered didn't do the job either, so I've bought some satin finish plastic paint.

I'm still waiting for my adapters.. I ordered them 3 weeks ago so I'm getting a little concerned now. Were posted last Monday apparently but I've not received any tracking information despite asking 3 times. Hopefully they do show up because they are the only missing part of the puzzle now!

New coverings for the bottom of the doors, the old ones were really past it and let the car down a lot

Shadowline trim, excuse the shit photos, just started snowing up here!

This piece of trim that holds the OBC and head unit was really irritating me! The clip that held the OBC had snapped so it had an intermittent connection, and as you can see, the stereo sat on the piss.

Got a replacement sorted and that's sorted it, stereo is nice and straight and the OBC is nice and secure. Nice Kenwood BT92 head unit, very good deck this, had them in three different cars now. Really impressive.

Replaced a tweeter as it wasn't working.

    Couple more of the wheels
