Glad you made a build thread! The R is the new D series, z6's and zc's haul ass with a bit of massaging, and I think the R20 can too
Wheres that exhaust clip? I am dying to hear it.
The R18 head has vtec, right? Is it possible to raise the vtec engagement to the top end?
Sorry, not exactly sure what exactly economy vtec does. Does it switch from a higher cam profile to a lower one? Or does it switch from a low cam profile to a higher one, then back down for economy?

Econo VTEC engages at a low RPM (around 2200) but the cam profile is so mild, it really doesn't do a damn thing. It's behavior is almost the same as non VTEC B's, D's and F's from years of old. They just put VTEC in because of all the hype from back in the day so the ricers can scream they have VTEC when they really don't.Originally posted by rice4life View PostGlad you made a build thread! I actually just took a video today but I won't be able to upload it till after work cause Flickr app is stupid, but I have been avoiding it till I get my new axle back cause I destroyed my greddy canisterOriginally posted by rice4life View PostGlad you made a build thread! But apparently with the r series when the econo vtec engages fuel economy gets better unlike other Honda vtec, but there are 2 levels of vtec an econo vtec and I think just a general vtec, not to sure.
Lol, I don't even care about having vtec in my car, all it does is Make a bwah noise after it engages it's all Just for show like you said, so people like me can scream "vtec kicked in" lol, I have had yet to see a benefit to in on my carOriginally posted by CrackerTeg View PostEcono VTEC engages at a low RPM (around 2200) but the cam profile is so mild, it really doesn't do a damn thing.
