  • Another E28

Aloha from Hawaii. This is a quick synopsis on my recent purchase and build. 2 months ago, had a chance to grab an 86 528e for $400 since there's not really a huge following here yet.
First day I got her. Paint was in bad shape, but she runs like a champ with working A/C and low milage.

Did some work on the paint: wet sand and buff and also sanded the grills

Got lil help from a homie.

    An the before n after

Had a set of 16" RS's that I built a year earlier on the side that I thought would be a perfect color match to the Burgundrot Metallic. RS's were originally 005's and 006. Now fronts are 16x8 and rears are 9's. There powdercoated a rootbeer color with a bit of gold flake. I'll prolly go wider later in the future.

off to get some tires mounted

Don't mind my table...it's a bit messy. Built some coilovers for the front with extra springs and perch's I had on the side.

Installing the front suspension. Cut the rears for now. Also changed the break pads and rotors just to be on the safe side.

    A lil happier

Installed some interior goodies and stripped the old azz tint

Got a long more ways to go...but having fun along the way. Her currently

Very nice man, it takes a lot of work to bring a car back to a good shine. I applaud your effort.

              Good job on that paint.

All those E28 threads make me want one sooo bad! How's the 528e engine? Is it suuuuper slow or perfectly liveable?

Thanks @stbk @nickskater09 @Raarasutra @JE BMW lot of work but don't remember having as much fun on my other cars as I'm having now. @difeliciantonio Yup, I got ahold of a set 0f 501's in the process of refurbishing them. Also waiting on my new bbs caps. @Nick475 @BrandonMcKiernan thanks I appreciate it. Been following both your builds on IG. You two actually helped motivate me to wrench on mines, lol! Digging both your 28's. @Rocambolesque the m20's fine, since I've been using it as more of my family car for now....but I do have a turbo engine on the side that I'm hoping to slap in sooner then later. @Dylanhat Depends...some cars if your lucky, are used and kept in the city. Mines have just minimal rust (dime size) on the bottom passenger door and sunroof area.

Thank you! Nothing compared to yours. I always drool on yours. Clearance for the pan is bout a half of an inch. Been on a scrapping spree lately, trying to flatten out some parts.
