I spend most of my time up at school in Rochester NY driving and sliding in the snow, but I live in the Philly PA area too. The Impreza is my second car, my first being a 1988 Plymouth reliant with only 24k original miles. Some may remember a post of mine I made quite a while ago with this car inside.

Although she was factory fresh, the Impreza is definitely an upgrade... Nothing was really done to the Plymouth minus some Polk Audio speakers, but it started my interest cars, and led me to my new car. My car was "affectionately" named Isabella Washington Chunkytube by my friends and unfortunately the name stuck, so anyway here she is...

This was the night I picked her up in all her swirl marked, scratched, 54k mile glory. The firs things first, a quick detail and a WRX 6-disk to get some slightly better sound.

Next up was some OBS fog lights I picked up off eBay for a great deal.

Right about now I was really getting tired of the steelies/hubcap look and happened to find some 06 RS wheels pop up on Craigslist for a good deal. I picked those up and some falken 512s to wrap them with.

Then the low bug bit me... Unfortunately, with a college budget Raceland's were my choice for a shock spring setup. I don't really plan on tracking my car anytime soon, so inexpensive coils would do the trick. I have a few friends that currently and have run Raceland's for a while and think they are adequate for the price. They do ride harsher than stock, but are not uncomfortable and will do until I can afford a better set.

The coils were put on hold for winter as I did not want to coat them in Rochester salt right away. So some Legacy wagon wheels and Firestone Winterforce tires were rocked along with a new Thule rack that I picked up for an extremely good deal.

    (Next to Lake Ontario)

And I had a sweet score on some 04 WRX brakes with low milage and some very nice junkyard swag.

    LL Bean wheel

Cruise Control Module and Actuator (That I ended up not having plugs for...)

Finally some good weather started to come around so lots of things ended up happening, along with some 05 WRX seats that I picked up from an RS25 member somewhere down the line.

And the finished product, prior to adjustment.

    A little bit lower...

And finally where I wanted it, also with an $8 junkyard Mk3 lip lol. Well that's about where I am up to now. The build should be updated frequently as I have a lot of projects in the works right now (brakes, trunk, carpet, etc.). Comments and criticism welcome! Thanks for letting me be a part of this awesome community, enjoy!

Thanks guys! The powder coating was actually done by my uncle on the side lol. He does some powder coating at his job and was willing to help me out.

No way! I just saw your thread! Looks great dude. What are the specs on your new wheels if you don't mind me asking? I have fallen deeply for Sedona Red too, even though my paint is about as tough as a wet paper bag for whatever reason... . I'm also very jealous of your trim free doors, so clean. The MK3 lips look pretty good in my opinion! Especially for no moneys lol

Also figured I'd update this thread since I'm getting some interest! I just finished up the hard wood trunk last weekend and was able to snap some pics of that.

Traced the carpet on to 1/2" MDF then cut and removed approximately 3/4" all around for installation space. Also cut the piece in two so it would actually go in my trunk lol.

                $3 Lumber Liquidators bamboo! haha

Nailed it all down through the bottom with 1" long brads.

Trimmed the edges with a jigsaw and some hardwood blades, then installed! I think it looks pretty good and replaces my old broken trunk floor for a grand total of $27! Thanks for the comments everyone!

I do! I've driven from PA to SC and back with them, put on like 10k miles, and they still have tons of tread and are fairly quiet. Couldn't ask more for the price really...

Alright, so this weekend I decided to tackle a project that was pretty out of bounds for the likes of me. I decided it would be a good idea to repair my car's common rust cancer with no access to a welder, no body/paint work experience, and minimal tools. Then have it all back together for work on Monday... Well needless to say that didn't happen but I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Unfortunately, this is the best picture I could find of the rust that I am referring to. This picture was taken quite a while ago, so a little more paint was gone, exposing more rust than what is shown in this picture. Although, if I would have gotten my shit together, I COULD have stopped this before it got as bad as it did.

Exibit A, B, and C... Basically I'm a huge idiot for putting it off for this long.

Sweetass speed hole in mah trunk brah. Weight reduction kit.

                        Cut even more cancer out...

Decided fiberglass was the best route because no welder. Figured it was my best shot at preserving the job. I don't have any more pictures of the fiberglass process because, well, my hands were covered in fiberglass... haha

Glaze and sanding until smooth. I smoothed the patch for a loooooong time before laying down two coats of primer and three coats of paint today. I have a lot of sanding and blending ahead of me along with clear. If anyone has any suggestions on paint matching/blending, I could use it because I have no idea how I am going to blend into 13 year old paint... More pictures tomorrow hopefully including the finished product!

On a positive note though, I got to drive around for work in the "Golden Turd"! My girlfriend's affectionately named Forester with 150k miles. We are going to be putting my old strut and spring setup on the car to replace her blown struts. Seeing as her car weighs almost 600lbs more than mine, it should manage to bring her closer to the earth, so stay tuned for that.

Thanks man, that's the goal for the future!

Alright, so I was visiting a local junkyard to my school today and on my way out to find some strut top mounts I stumbled upon these...

SSR Integral GT1 in 17x9, unsure of the offset yet. I got them because they were stamped "5x100" on the front and because they were a STEAL. Unfortunately it seems that upon closer inspection they are actually 5x114.3 . I don't know if I will be able to run them because of their width and the need for adapters etc etc, but if there is a possible way too, I'm going to do it... These are the only pictures I can get for now, but I will post some up later when I get them cleaned up, and it's not 1AM... Lol Any advice is welcome!

Just a pair of wheels, or a set?

You silly kids and your subarus. Weld that shit up when you have the time. Would have been cheaper to rent a welder and get scrap metal in the long run, now you have to undo the fiberglass, and cut out what rust that might have formed behind it when you have the time.

Other than that, it's looking very clean.

Be careful though, a roof rack, wood trunk, bright wheels, and racelands walk a very thin line between cookie cutter and clean. Your car is very clean looking, but I am just giving you a heads up so you don't end up like celli.
