Third when you've got the dent as straight as you can get it, add small amounts of bondo SKIM coats. Bondo should never be thicker than an 1/8 of an inch. Your welcome to do it your way (your truck) just trying to give you the correct way. Understand this is the best way I can explain how to do it with the tools you have available. The bondo you have applied thus far WILL crack, shrink, and fallout without a doubt.
If I had known this before hand, I would have totally done it. I knew for sure that I wanted to use bondo, if nothing else, to get better at it, but it looks like I'll be using your advice in the future haha. Thanks

    Pink paint? Pimp!
I think a full black interior and a pink one of these in the future would be a better play on the theme:

Ive been in the no mod money boat myself a few times.I made due with what i had.It is what it is.When i got money , i hit up the junkyards for better parts. Spent $55 dollars for a brand new interior(car had 78k on it and almost no wear). You can modify other car parts to fit your own and it was cheap as ****.Hit up some PA yards for some parts.
One thing though is you really do need to take some coils off them springs so it sits lower.Would look heeps better. But this is your truck and opinions dont apply unless you want them too. Good luck!
That steering wheel, bahaha or I should just go with these instead?

I'll hit up some junk yards, or even a pick 'n pull once I get enough spending cash.

      • I'm still waiting for an update that goes like this

"Pulled the front springs out, cut out 3+ coils, and flipped the rear axle"

        That, and a dozen pics

So...you've never used bondo or done body work and didn't think to maybe google the proper way to fix a dent? I bet there are any number of how to videos on youtube as well. You say you wanted to use bondo to get better at it...but you cannot get better at something by doing it wrong. Maybe spend a little less time painting and a little more time researching how to do things right the first time, THAT will actually save you money in the long run. I'm actually trying to help you, not trying to sound like an asshole, that just comes naturally.

Gonna lower it the right way with a kit, not gonna eff up my truck cutting the suspension.

I've done research in the past and did a little bondo on my previous truck, and it turned out well and lasted two years. I didn't even think to research it more because every video I watched didn't mention half the stuff you did, and I do thank you and R32SilviaTech for that

Common dude, it's just an old truck. If ur gonna get actually low then your gonna end up cutting a coil or two. Because I thought the same thing about my truck, I swore I was gonna do it the right way but i ended up cutting coils because it wasn't low enough. when it comes to a truck you can only get so low on a kit

              • I just lowered an s-10 for my buddy, I cut a coil and a half, and threw a 3 inch block in the back with air shocks, it cost in parts about 100 bucks and it rides as good as it can for being on 20's and rubber band tires. Cutting coils have been around for as long as people have been lowering vehicles, take the coil spring out and put it in water when you cut them to prevent heat transfer, that's where a lot of people make the mistake and it makes the spring soft.

                • Ehhhhhhh we'll see. I'm not looking to get her riding on the ground, if you saw the roads I have to drive on to get to work you would understand why.

And I do have a job now so I should be getting a paycheck next week! I'm gonna hit up a junk yard for a tailpipe/muffler, some tires and rims off Craigslist for $60, get her registered, and it should leave plenty of play money!

Then you're not doing it right. All roads are shit. Once people realize that, the excuses will stop.

I drive a dirt road with five inch deep pot holes every couple of feet and my truck has less then 3/4 of an inch of ground clearance, sorry not buying the shitty roads excuse, lol. (Don't take any thing I say to heart, I'm not a serious person.)
