so i broke down the headlights to refinishing the buckets and clean up any connectors and covers. only managed to break 2 of the small cup grommets that hold the headlight to adjustor. after sandblasting of the buckets and some self etching primer, i hit it with some fresh black

started to polish up the chrome headlight rings as they were black and had over spray as well, came out looking new. old on left and polish on right

overspray and rust, a no go in my book.

    headlight mess

    primer

    paint

i wonder what goes on those motor shafts and in between the stoppers on the chrome rings

so alot of work has been going into the e28 lately. its been crazy hot and humid, but the overcast has let me do some work

after 4 weeks of waiting for back ordered caliper parts, i finally got them and was able to finish putting calipers together

i also picked up some early large white base e36 window switches to the retrofit.

and it already looking alot better

    new emblems

old rear emblem to be replaced

    old front emblem

    years of dirt

i know i havent washed the car in awhile so its weird hows the caulkyness comes up on alpineweiss for the older car,as i seen other 80's bmw do same thing

starting to install the zender wing. as you can see, very precise stuff here

holes drilled and just mocked on for now. some other work to be done before its 100% attached

so since rear brakes were done, i was able to put the rears together, me being only 5'8, my arms had trouble reaching into the rear shock mount areas in the trunk. but the rear has new rotors, pads, rebuilt calipers, stainless steel lines, coilovers, rear sway bar links and a couple of other bushings and small odds and ends

i think this thing is done for

got this in the mail from guten, brackets for front euro bumper, i could have made these, but i dont have to much time on my hands lately, so save it where i can

    nice shinny chrome euro bumpers

removed old rear bumper, lower rear valence is gonna get shaved of brackets, striped of the old texture paint stuff, holes welded and re-painted before its all done

euro rear bumper mocked up, compliments the zender wing nicely i think. need to go to hardware store for some 1/4 longer lag screws for the sides and i gonna fab up a quick bracket to place on the inside of the truck where euro bumper bolts come through the sheetmetal

well shit, i found out the mtech 1 wheel i got is a course splined and my car is fine. so the mtech 2 wheel is staying

but i got back another shift knob for the fluffy. i think its a orginal bmw woodgrain shift knob from the 80's as i pulled it from a woodgrain packaged e30. i had gave it to a friend before i got the e28 but then i wanted it back so traded another knob to him. its pretty darn heavy. anyone seen one before

picked up some nice infinity panel speakers for the fronts since they can fit into the stock location and look 100% stock under panels

and here are the pics of the spoiler. very clean, no rust, the rubber is in excellent shape
