scoping through craigslist a while back and saw this car back up for sale, sad too because I really wanted to see it aired.

Hey guys, went through a phase a couple months back of wanting to sell the car. Sold the Brabus wheels, along with some of the components for the bag setup. In the process, I saw a ton of slammed W124s cycling around the web..so proceeded to modding lol. Probably not the smartest thing to do when selling a car, so looks like I am keeping it
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-I wanted to revamp the aged, oem grill so decided to use the extra duplicolor I had laying around the garage. Big difference and worth the time imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Recently picked up Authentic AMG Aero II Monoblock wheels off of an S55 in 18x8.5 et44 and 18x9.5 et46 for a steal. Originally was against putting monoblock wheels on the car to be different, but needed tires and decided they'd make a great winter setup someday. Also added euro corners since my oem signals decided they'd look nicer on the freeway than my car
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Putting the wagon to use with a couch in my trunk lol. Also made a 1,000 mile trip back home to the bay area and am now hitting 207k strong. Despite the set of tires, luggage, tools, etc. the car ran smooth without any hesitation the entire drive. Found myself at the gas station one too many times. (Goofy reverse poke fitment up front is due to the wheel/strut clearance..20mm spacer being run that was included with the sale. 5mm Spacer is on the way along with smaller tires.)

Tired of making my gf carsick of the s**** boat-like ride, I purchased all the necessary Suspension needed for more low and comfort. Hoping I'll be installing these later this week along with cutting the oem springs and rolling the fenders flat this week:
-Non-SLS Rear Control Arms
-Non-SLS Swaybar Endlinks
-Saab 900 Shocks
-R129 Drophats
-TA Technix E36 Coilovers
-5mm Spacers

As well as everything else. Love what you're doing with the W124. I have a POS facelift sedan, really would like a wagon to play with.

so ive been searching and doing a lot of reading on the sls delete on these cars. I understand getting that you need to swap the lower control arm to a sedan control arm but why is the sway bar end link need to be replaced? are they mounted differently? from just parts pictures the sedan and the wagon end links look identical to me....some insight on this would be awesome.@sirlowalot

Many components were failing so decided to do an alternative. Although the car rides like crap and probably far from OEM quality, at least I have a great looking daily driver lol. Probably am going to swap out the oem springs to h&r sports to reduce the bouncy ride or go straight to air ride pending how long my back can handle it. My passengers h*te me :crybaby2:
Suspension components:
Rear:
(SLS Delete)
Non SLS rear lower control arms
Non SLS Swaybar Endlinks
Saab 900 Shocks
2.5 Coils cut from oem spring
20mm H&R Spacer
Front:
TA Technix E36 front Coilovers
R129 Strut mounts
2.5 Coils cut from oem spring
(e36 coilovers vs. oem struts... e36 coils bolt right up!)

I enjoyed you trolling the fine uptight folks over on BenzWorld
Supposedly a considerable portion of the nice ride of a W124 is the combination of soft springs with extremely stiff dampers, and my experience with running stock dampers with air bears that out - the factory ones are STIFF.
I'd guess with 2.5 coils cut off that you're sitting somewhere between 400 and 500 lbs/in in spring rate - does that sound about right? You might try and see if you can find a pair of Bilstein Sports for the rear. They're supposed to be somewhat shorter than stock, and a bit stiffer, so they might calm down the bounce.
It does look good, though!

Hey guys, haven't updated this in awhile.. just wanted to share with you what my buddy has been working on for me lately. He fabbed up a custom VIP Tray/Table with 2 Cup Holders and 2 Iphone Slots with matching wood grain on the top deck and real leather on the lower deck to match my dash. If you are a W124 owner, many of us complain that they don't come with cup holders, so I figured this would be the perfect solution.. as for the iPhone holders, I always lose them during the drive lol. Please follow him on instagram @Vip_Mafia if you're interested in his work. Great customer service and turn around time for those wanting a table!
Here is a mock up of an e30 table he just finished up:

My Saab900 shocks blew the first week of ownership and cut springs lol I decided to purchase a pair of bilstein 4600 shocks from the front of a 95 Ford Ranger. With stiffer springs from a w124 sedan or coupe, I am sure this will fix my ride quality situation. The Ranger shocks are noticeably shorter than the saab shocks.
