Making great progress, bumper looks killer. The turn signals are meant to wrap around the headlight itself so we'll be cutting the outer edge of the grille which is only about an inch that covered the fender gap. By replacing it with the turn signals, now were covering the fender gap with more than 2 inches so the fender wrap will now look more original and clean. The fog lights may or may not clear the bumper reinforcement because they're projectors and they stick out pretty far but they're at the right angle.
The hood and fenders will be extended with medal from the roof of a 2002 WRB Wrx Hatchback which was parted out recently and bondoed so it's smooth and level all the way around.
Alright the bumper install is complete, we actually joined/welded the GL bumper reinforcement to the 5 series bumper for a proper install. It looks awesome!
Scored some HELLA 5 series fog lights and turn signals in Seattle today for $40!
Also on a positive note, I'd like to mention that R3VLimited has dedicated 6 pages to discuss what they think about my build. I'm honored, hope you guys are stoked for the final product, were workin quick to get it done.
Alright, I had a long weekend starting Thursday and ending Sunday filming Formula Drift and Vaughn Gittin JR's smoke show with Ryan Tuerck and spent some time editing and relaxing.
Bumper is on! Pretty decent looking but it still needs to be pushed back a little further. The fenders had to be cut so the bumper could fit in there, I think it's comin together quite nicely. More progress will come it just takes time. I have too many things I'm doin to care much about this project right now.
I don't get why people give so much of a shit. Its not like either car is hard to find and its not like either are worth that much. Let the man do his shit, just don't do it to your own car if you **** it so much.
Dude, if you can't have some fun and do what you want, then what's the point? You know who would be criticizing you and saying "you're an idiot" (really constructive use of any post, seventh or otherwise) without these forums? Probably no one. Maybe your neighbors. "Oh look honey, there goes the Su-bmw-aru boy, and his grill is 3 inches too short on either side...how silly..." Doubt it.
I would have driven the Subaru as-is, but that's because I had one a bilion years ago in 4WD turbo format and wish I still had it, brown paint and all. That car owed me nuthin'.
Have your fun, man. That's what this whole thing is supposed to be about.
Your elantra is the shit. It's so different and unique and asdfacking mazing which automatically makes it about 100000x cooler then any e30 or any BMW for that matter. Cuz I seen a lot of those that have been done up and they are so dum and similar like and stuf.....
You noes what I ment
That means a lot coming from you
Because our cars are so different(not a BMW, BMW's are the superior mode of transportation, and everything else is inferior), watch out, they might give us a good talking too, or a drive by argument.
Seriously though, they call S|W stupid when the e30 is one of the most popular cars here. I can respect anyone out there that can tastefully modify an e30, but nowadays everyone with one just copies each other to impress the internet.
