I used black wrinkle paint for motors on the gas tank. It's tough and handles any temp.

For sure man!Originally posted by uvebeenrobd View PostGreat stuff going on here...we need to meet up during SoWo even though we are blackballed...lol
So today I decided to mess with the 2002 since my fastback has been getting all the attention. Almost daily I'm reminded sowo is coming so it's time to get my ass in gear lol. Weather is still preventing a lot of stuff happening but oh well.
Since my tax return wasn't as big as I planned I decided to just paint my back seat with vinyl paint instead of having it recovered in black, happy with how it turned out just hope it lasts.
It was originally blue,

Also painted the back bars on the seats black even though no one will ever see them lol.
More primer was put on my trunk and I've started sanding down as I want to have in back on the car in a couple weeks hopefully. No pic of that since it isn't all that exciting.

Well since I'm waiting on two brake lines to come off a parts car, I decided to build new side panels that go in the trunk. I had the OEM ones but they had seen better days and I knew I wouldn't be happy with just painting them. I'm planning on painting the trunk black so I decided to do wood panels with vinyl over it.

The OEM panels went to my dad's 69 that he's doing a semi-resto on. Next up was putting something on the wood floor to quiet up any rattling. Someone gave me the idea of using a cheap yoga mat so I ran with it. Came green but I ended up painting it Silver (it was the best thing I had just laying around).

Then I ordered a new clutch line from CATuned because I needed to fight with one more thing on this car lol.

Once I get the brakes and clutch wrapped up, the car will be going up to my dad's so we can paint the trunk and have that finished up finally. Also will paint the trunk lid about that time as well.

Not much going on right now, started on brake lines but ran into some crossed thread stuff, so now I'm waiting for more parts.
Getting ready to build some side boards to replace my oem ones since I'm painting the trunk. Also putting backing on the wood floor so it isn't rattling around. Hopefully things will be picking back up once it warms up a bit and also when I can drive the car again.

Since the interior is back in the car it was time to turn attention back to the exterior. I first pulled the trunk and took it inside and finished sanding the underside. Also laid down primer on it and plan to do the top of it tomorrow so I can get it ready to paint back to white. Only reason I'm going to all this trouble is because it is completely dent free where my other one had numerous dings in it... they were driving me crazy so I decided to make the switch lol.
Inside before primer, pulled all the hardware off which also will be getting sanded down and primered.

Also finally got bolts for my rear bumper since I removed the bumper guards, so much cleaner without them.

Also got the clutch/brake res installed and my brake lines showed up so they will be getting installed soon as well. Slowly chipping away so its ready for SOWO.
