  • Rusty Skateboard 7

So I know this isn't really stance but this car will be low, it will be a race car as well, deadline for completion is end of October as November will be an endurance race

This is a Lotus 7 Replica, got a 2L Ford Duratec motor in it, Alfa lsd diff in the back, the compomotive wheels(13x9 front 13x10 rear) I mentioned in a post a while back, car still has a way to go, my Dad and I are putting/fabricating it all together, front suspension geometry is off so need to redesign that and the front tyre profile is too big, aiming to have the frame about 4cm off the floor, dry sump pan will be about 2.5cm off the floor

    Shitty phone pics for now:

we're fabricating mostly everything, catch tanks and suspension, need to make new wishbones in the front, current ones are just in place so we can take it to the dyno, oh and the engine has all sorts of fancy cams and pistons etc. from Raceline in the UK, going to be inboard front suspension, rockers have been drawn up in autocad and need to be laser cut

I was going to say, the thickness of the a-arm tubes scare me.

This should be good though. Looks like it would be a blast to drive.

May i ask, Why so low if its a track car? Ripple strips will kill that sump pan if it comes off. Fucking cool build tho man.

Well centre of gravity and we've worked out the roll centre at that height and should keep it on the black stuff so the sump doesn't get bashed, in SA the rumble strips wont do anything, its really just track then grass

I've driven a couple of 7s. Replicas and actual 7s. They are so much fucking fun. Nothing like having your ass 4" off the ground in a car that weighs slightly more than nothing.

I got to beat on one that was a kit that used all stock miata suspension and drivetrain. It was a blast. And then another one that had the same ford motor you are using, but stock, and it was plenty fast. This thing will be pretty beast!

Ah fair enough. I guess with the spring/damper setup its not going to be soft anyway haha. GL with it. Keen to see it finised.
