Restart of a 2006 Ford Mustang

OK, this probably won't wind up "stanced" but definitely slammed while still maintaining the car as a daily driver.

2006 Mustang GT.

Stock


Lowered 1"/1.5" with first wheel change. Moved up from 18's to 19's. You can see I also added some other aftermarket items.


Some additional changes and a second set of wheels.


OK, here's where I'll be doing some more changes. I've got a number of items sitting in boxes right now including new lowering springs - 1.6"/2" and new wheels. Switching back to 18's.




Did some detailing/paint correction along with a long overdue interior cleaning.

Not bad. Those seats needed that detailing! I'd like to see it with the springs on. Do you have any mods under the hood?

i wouldnt go lowering springs, yes they get you low and good handling, but they ultimately fuck up your stock shocks and then those need to be replaced, might as well just buy coils

idk i could be wrong, dad had a 1999 cobra and a 2005 gt and thats what happened with both

Not a lot of performance mods yet. C&L Cold Air Intake, DiabloSport high octane tune and 3:73 gears in the rear. The vehicle has almost 100,000 miles on it so I'll probably just change out the cams and intake at some point. Have aftermarket axlebacks on it. Will probably add off road x-pipes at some point as well.

You're right there. In addition to the new springs I've also got a set of Ford Racing 161-M-18000-A shocks and struts. These are designed for a lowered vehicle so I'm hoping I should be ok. If not, I might look into some Koni adjustable shocks. I still need to order some adjustable camber plates and see what I have for space/etc once I put the new wheels/tires on. Long term hope is to switch to air-ride but that might be two years off as I have some other things to do with this, my truck and my house.

The FRPP springs are pretty decent as long as you don't slam the car. I have a set on my wifes SVT Focus and they handle so nice.

Well, spent the weekend changing out the power steering pump. Thank you Ford for putting the oil filter, radiator hose and sway bar right there. Decided to change the oil while I was at it.



Nothing much to see here but a dirty engine because of the ram air intake holes in the hood. I really need to close those things up.



Got tires mounted on the wheels (dang they need to be cleaned now). Had hope to get them on the car but I wound up breaking the serpentine belt on the truck on the trip home. Ugh. Stupid thing is that I changed the one on the car Sunday (preventitive maintenance). I really need to take better care of this truck. My schedule sucks for the next few days so it might not be until the weekend when the wheels are mounted. I figure I might as well paint the calipers when I put the wheels on.
