  • The red barge. saab content.

Hello everybody. Been reading through threads on here and seen some badass cars. Heres my car (not very badass admittadly) Bought it as a stop gap however i kept it becuase i quite like it now and in hindsight there quite hard to get hold of in this colour and this year in the uk. Fancied building something ive never seen before.

Heres a pic of my old car (not very stanced but i loved it)

heres the story of the saab. Been modding on a budget because im a poor student so bear with me its not show winner.

Heres how it came to me (got it for £650 off my uncle) shouldve grown a moustache n got a smoking pipe it was pretty old man.

So i thought id paint the wheels and tint the headlights as a start to try n cool it up.

Then fitted some lowering springs (even though you cant tell)

Then i decided it needed lowering some more, so i took a punt and orderd some vectra B coilovers as the saab ones where £700 which is more than the cars worth :/
Luckily they fitted!(they knock like shit though)

Heres how it looked when done

stayed like that for a while then i decided i wanted a change so i took off the spoiler and had a look for some new wheels. found that there was much choice second hand in 5x110 fitment so had to travel 250miles to pick up a set i found on the web.

I decided i wanted more horse under the red beast so bought some stuff. (its a 150hp ecopower so its weakkkkkk)

The turbo, injectors and intake should take me to 250hp with 260ft lbs so should be tasty compared to what im used too! just need to get some money together to get it fitted and remapped!

Thats pretty much it ill leave you with some recent pics of the car

    Thanks for reading!

    Havenhand.

Looks great! I would suggest getting a tire with a thicker sidewall. It will fill out the fenders better and give a slightly more comfortable ride as a bonus. Otherwise it's excellent!

I almost bought a saab just like this one before I decided on getting my x-type (wanted the x-type for years though). This, ALMOST makes me wish I had gotten the saab haha. Nice work so far.

I agree with drift55 about the tires. This seems to be the "meat-tire-car"-type. Also I preferred the tinted headlights. BUT I absolutely dig your choice in removing the spoiler. Looks pretty boss now.

        I am very interested. Subscribed!

Looks great! I as well agree about bigger sidewalls.

Thanks man! Funny you should say about the headlights. I thought they looked better so bought a can of tint spray the other week. Turns out itd been sat in a cabinet for about 8 years and totally looked crap when i sprayed it an hour of thinners later i was back to square one and gave up

yeah 10mm isnt going to change much

Bigger tires or bigger wheels would set this thing off!
