  • Eg Coupe Build... Yes another one...

Well I've been wanting to start a build for a while, I finally got something with a little stretch and poke and I figured I'd stop lurking and post something...

    Here's what I started with...

Edit: Some things I forgot to mention, I traded an EF sedan with not motor for this car, running because I needed a daily. The coupe rearended a 18 wheeler so that's what wrong with the front of it... and I'll be working on that as I go...

Forgot to mention I apologize for the cell phone pics... My wife lost the cord for our camera.

Anyway I found out that the guy that had the car before me had cut the springs on the struts and left the pieces in. Figured I might as well hack on em some more, so I took em out and cut em down. Here's what I ended up with.

I also threw on some el cheapo Wally World roof racks...

The guy I got the car from also decided he wanted the steelies back and found me some cheapo Konig 17s with great tires for 150 bucks...
      On the way home...

I absolutely ***** the color so I decided to paint em...

I apologize for some of the pics being turned... I turned em on photobucket but apparently it doesn't know that...

So anyway... My cousin wrecked his Lancer Raliart and messed up his wheels, He told me he would trade some rims he had laying around for the Konigs... Turns out they look kinda cool on my car haha

They're 18s... I know that's huge on a Civic but at least they have some lip, and some stretch...

That's how it sits now... Looks pretty decent but It needs aloottttttt of work...

          Comeing soon:
          Windshield
          New Core Support
          New headlights (black background)
          New corners (tinted amber)
          New fenders
          New bumper
          Front lip
          Adjustable Control Arms
JDM D15B Swap (unless something happens to mine before I find one)
          Window Tint
RSX seats (already have, just need to make brackets)
          and ALOT of tlc/cleaning...

Thanks for looking, More pics to come as I work on it

Do you plan on changing the wheels? And why not go B series?
The only thing lower than my standards is my truck.

Are those eurolines 17 or 18?

              it could work...

              and paint them white

IMO even if its a maaco 1-stage, you need to get this repainted properly

I'm not going to get it painted till all the bodywork is done... I have a lot of stuff to work on, the plan is get it straight and try my best to hit a deer and let my insurance to pay for it... lol

Those wheels up there look like the ones I have... I don't have the center caps tho. They're 18s which is IMO to big for the car... But like I said I have 150$ in em and they have 3 brand new tires on em.

I'm not going B series on the motor because the stuff around here is twice the price of D series stuff. I don't have to buy new mounts, I don't have to change computers, and with new arp bolts, good gaskets, and a good tune I can make well over 200hp which is plenty for stretched tires. I don't plan on racing it. So its more than enough for me.

                Thanks for the comments guys.

caps aren't cheap but ebay has them (150+-). I think you should get caps on them and drop it with a VIP kit to pull it off. Stock body won't work with 18s on this... I'm glad they're real tho (too bad they're 4 lug cause i'd buy them from you

They're 4x100 and 5x100. I saw on the work site they had 1 polished cap left and it was 90 bucks. That's the only DH cap that had.

I would really like to trade them for something smaller. I may get some kind of small lip kit, but it will be after I get the front end straight.

As soon as I can get adjustable arms, struts, and top hats I'll be able to get it down another 2 or 3 inches in the back. The front fenders were already dented all up so I just pulled the crap out of them... When I get some new front fenders I'll add some camber in the front and roll it properly.

Okay so I did some more body work this afternoon... There was some body fill around the drivers side rear arch so I went ahead and got that off because it busted when we rolled it. Like I said I plan on having them rolled properly...

On with the pictures I supposed... Oh I went down some in the back by the way...

                            Dent on the passenger pillar

Getting the flaking paint and body filler off the arches...

Then I found a few other spots I wanted to fix...

The busted body filler next to the arch

Chip out of the filler next to the drivers door

                            Dent in the passenger pillar

                            Dent on the back corner

I got that far and figured...

Why not patina the car until I get done with the body work... I ran out of sand paper though so I only got the back drivers quarter done. Going to get more sand paper tomorrow.

Also got the front fenders bolted on a little straighter... They don't look so over flared now.

Another side project soon is going to be fixing the curbage on my wheels and polishing/painting them.

Edit: Side note... I just looked through the pictures and remembered how much I **** the ricey ass red paint on my door panels... That's going to be changing soon too.

How are you going to get well over 200hp on a D series just from good gaskets, arp bolts, and a tune? It won't even come close to 200hp on a D15b. A d15b vtec has 128hp to the crank new from factory. Just getting a b18b to 200hp, which has more power than d15b is a lot of work. Only thing is turbo the D series for easy over 200hp. Getting 100+ hp all motor isn't easy or cheap for a Honda.
