I did too, but it was the og red then some cheap maaco paint that was sprayed over, so it was literally peeling off.

Luckily i have found no rust at all on this thing, with the exception of some surface here and there.

Also it will no longer be a diesel, a 16b with itb's will be going in its place.

                    little update.

started scraping the original sound deadener from the floor pans, have a bit order of fatmat that will be going in its place over more surfaces of the car, I.E. i will be putting an actual decent system in this mk1 (ruhroh). comes up decently easy, but got a little winded after one pan, so ill be buying some dry ice next garage night , which when left on for a little while will make the deadener pop right up.

when i got over that for the night, started draining fluids and pulling lines and wires to get ready for pulling the motor, which i would have done tonight if i had remembered to buy a chain for the hoist . but everything is ready and it should be out monday-tuesday.

found one small place, or former patch that needs to be addressed, although the battery tray will be coming out so it wont pose a huge problem.

                    thanks for reading! more soon

It amazes me how cars that I used to think were real poo poo in the past are getting cool-er as they getting older..

(or maybe it's me and not them...?) :-/

                        Anyway... make it cool man!

So we got a new garage, no more immensely cold winter nights and dust covering everything.

Motor finally came out two nights ago.cant wait to start stripping the bay

Took the fenders off, car was absolutely hit in the past, fixing shouldn't bee too hard though
