So i've been stalking pretty much every place to find a new set of wheels to purchase and refurb during the summer holidays, ended up getting a set of zauber monoblocks for an absolute steal:

fairly clapped out set, but i'm 90% sure they are 3 piece and they came with 4 centre caps and decent tyres, so winning! 17x8 with 235's on the fronts, 17x9 with 245's on the rear.

time to see how they sit on the cl9, so off come the futuras:

        o.........

they were cheap 2nd hand tyres that i sourced, so i never really bothered to sort my alignment out, did about ~5000km on them in 4 months, and now my drivers' front side tyre is absolutely GONE haha, so i've decided to rep the monoblocks on that same side until i sort out brand new tyres for the futuras and an alignment (Y).

        here's how they look:

So in the meantime i'll remove tyres from 2 of the monoblocks, split them, begin refurb etc etc and then do the other two once they are taken off the car.

Really want to purchase some OZ/BBS style step lips for them though, but i really dont know where to start... the current setup uses those damn 90 degree valve stems that come out of the inner barrel and sit on part of the face (there is a cutout for the valve stem), how can i sort that out? From what I know, BBS and OZ lips have the valve stem in the outer, and nowhere near the centre... which is kinda what I would like to have.

But anyway, if anyone reading this knows where i can find steplips and what sort of measurements i should know of, let me know. The centres are 40 bolt.

          progress:

split 2 of the zaubers, they are indeed 3 piece and 40 hole lips!

Those new wheels would be so hot stepped up an inch in both diameter and width.

loving your work roman! The duckbill makes it stand out nicely and I loved that color combo going with futuras.

I'd add some slightly larger, polished silver exhaust tips to complete the rear end. Also, keen to see how the new shoes will look when lipped and polished

I still have the futuras on the CL9

not getting rid of them, finding a set of 18" futuras in 5x114.3 is near impossible. particularly in aus

                              couple more pics

STILL haven't finished the monoblocks, i am seriously considering upsizing them to 18" cause they look amazing with step lips, really hope i could source some 2nd hand parts and not have to buy everything custom/brand new:
