Keep us updated as it's coming along, aye?

Okay, long story short, was working halfway across the state and as I drove into the town I was staying in I spotted a Mk1 on jack stands in someone's yard. Had a chat to the owner, money and paperwork exchanged hands, and I am the proud second owner of this little beauty. After a nail biting 2½ hour drive home (he sat in a shed since 2003 so I wasn't sure if he'd make it, to my surprise he drove like a dream and has ever since) I gave him a wash and wax and the paint came up a treat. Unfortunately for all, this one is staying stock until I can afford another daily driver as I really don't want to get this one defected as well.

how many mk1's do you have there ? :O
Only a stripped shell at my house for the time being, which should hopefully be sold soon. The one with the green guard is currently at my friends house awaiting stripping for racing

Long story short, swapped engines with my other Golf, drove it for three days, defected again.

That's the end of that chapter.
