B5A4 SoWo prep

So i went a pulled the trigger on a '97 B5 A4 1.8t with a 2001 AWM motor and a "skipped" timing belt on Friday night. ok cool, new gaskets and swap some valves.

On Saturday after pulling the head on a GLI my buddy bought...time to pull the head on the quattro.

hopped on the vortex and the very top listing was for a 2001 A4 Part out. was only 15 min away.....and the number was already in address book. this is working out too well...gotta roll with it.

Lazy Sunday...didn't start till like 2pm

had some turbo parts around...took a ko3s hotside and put a ko4-001 compressor on.


split the MLS headgasket....who needs that middle layer anyways?


head prepped. removed egr since '97's don't have egr...

boost parts back on...


done Monday 3am.



new pads/rotors ordered today, should be here later today. selling my subaru coilovers today...will order a new set for the A4 today. need to clean my 17x9/17x10.5 's.....

13 miles on the rebuild. no leaks. doing on an 80 mile loop for work tomorrow. should be a good highway shake down

getting a 3 spoke sport wheel and about to pull the trigger on a brand new euro bumper from the guy i got my motor from.

still have these...Miro STP 17x8 and 17x10.5 <--- supposedly only 4 10.5's were made as prototypes. they have 17x10 cast on the inside...but do measure out to 10.5....

Nice, hopefully i see this thing at sowo. I've got plans to pick up a b5a4 1.8t this fall for a winter daily (but i plan on lifting it and tubbing that b*tch out)
