  • My E21 315 from NZ

    Yo,
    Thought I'd chuck something on here.
    This is my 315 that I've owned for a few years.

    I brought it "de-registered" due to accident damage from a wrecker originally;

    About a year ago, I got it repaired, and got it through the re-registering process;

    Over the last few months I've been getting it sorted for our car club's national meet (www.oldschool.co.nz) - check it out!

    I brought a set of 'new mini' steels, had the offset changed to 0, and had them widened out to 8".
    Got them painted dark grey (see further down), and fitted some 205/50R15 Ze912s

    I got some custom Fortune Auto branded coilovers made up, which are 100mm shorter in strut length, and have about 30mm of adjustment either way. Was originally going to go with a Gaz setup, but NZ law states that you can't weld to cast steel, and since the stubs are welded on, on Gaz's, they wouldn't be legal.
    In the end, reckon I've got a setup that's just as good, if not better, for cheaper anyhow.

    Got all the changes certed, and here's how it looks now;

          Lol! Did you not see the picture? They're widened to 8" all round. I potentially could have got 9s in the rear, but would have to be positive offset, which to me, defeats the purpose!

          I would like to lower it 15-20mm more in the front, but the tyres won't let me go any lower, and have got bugger all clearance between bottom arm and crossmember (already been tweaked out of the way slightly)

          Thanks for the comments!

            Interested to know how you guys get past the control arm/crossmember issue?

            My crossmember has been "tweaked" slightly, out of the way (using heat), and this has given me a bit more clearance. But so I can still have some travel/not snap some arms, I can't particularly go any lower.

            How do you bagged guys modify them?

                Nice car man, good to see you saved it. I actually drove past you on Great South Road one rainy Saturday some time ago in my Mk2. Looked pretty good in person that's for sure.

                        Well, the engine build took a little longer than planned, but she's running now, and pumping out some fairly decent power.
                        152wrhp/190hp at the crank, not bad for quite a docile driving m10!
                        Final specs were close to 11:1 running twin 45mm dcoe

                        Interesting to see what sorta numbers we get once run in.

                            I really like the look, especially with the dark grey steelies. Keep it up!
