Started pulling apart the new roller on the weekend, engine and interior coming out, gonna fiberglass the dash and do a full rust inspection, paint the engine bay and swap the drivetrain over from the other deo. Then the grey shell goes to the wrecker where it belongs. Will post pics up when I get the camera back.

Small update:
Was looking for a new tub. Singlecab TF tubs are pretty rare in Aus, so these things commonly go for around a grand, and then you have to freight them thousands of kilometers up to my remote cowhick hometown. My last one was brought from some sick lads on the Gold coast for $800 and was almost entirely bog, as a result of them being dickheads and "having a go" at bodywork.
Then the gods smiled upon me and I found this over the other side of town.
Complete, running, the guys step-dad was the first owner. A few little dents and a nasty interior, but totally unmolested by adolescent minitruckers who want to shave everything with bodyfiller.
He wanted $800, I lowballed him $600, he said he'd take $450 if I collected it before it started killing his lawn. Stoked.
So the plan is now to re-shell the 1J into this stock body, send the old grey heap to the wreckers (although someone wants to buy the tub haha).
We freshen up the engine conversion during the process of swapping things over, possibly paint the engine bay. By the time that's done, hopefully the engineer will have okayed the plans and the IRS swap can begin in earnest.
I got my first set of sketches back from the engineer, currently working on incorporating them into my 3D model, which will be the final thing I send to him for approval.
Got cash now sloshing around in my bank account as I've been saving while I've been sitting around scratching my doot on this build.
Couldn't resist splashing out on these when a mate put them up for sale.
They're from an R34 GTR and we are going to somehow make them work on the deo once the 5-stud conversion is done.
Also went gallivanting around in the daily a bit, drove it to a truck show way down south, took this picture on the way.
Was some cool stuff there which you guys would probably be interested in.
Visit my blog http://www.diplomatthreads.com.au/category/diplomacy/ for all the pics.
Will be back with news once the engine swap starts. Wanna start doing some interior funkyness myself soon too.

Thanks man.
Here's the link,
What’s up Speedhunters! We have a RAD new product that’s just dropped to give your whip that extra appeal at minimal cost… the Tirebomb kit. You can see here how effective it can be. So we thought we’d give you a quick demonstration of how to use the kit. Firstly pick your tire size as …
Im pretty sure the gopro mount is custom. He made a vector mount for his roof too, like a weather vane that points the gopro in whatever direction the car is moving.

Good man. Trust me the wait will pay off. I was finally able to set aside time and money for my truck and I know even though I haven't been able to drive it i'm going to love it when its done, same for you.

Still drawing plans for that rear clip. Neeeearrrrly finished. Will post once it's done. While I'm waiting for the engineer's go-ahead on the suspension, ill be swapping the 1J into a new rodeo which I picked up for $450, same year, same body, but less k's, less bog, and no backyard wiring jobs. So keen for a clean slate, will also be a good opportunity to do the engine/gearbox mounts and wiring myself, which can only be a good thing for future reliability. Things will happen in March, I can feel it in my waters.
