So i finally decided to make a build thread for my ae86...
so let me tell you a little about the car, had it for a little over a year now and a lot has happened and still a lot to come
so this is the first day i went out to see the car and fell in love
the car when i bought it was sitting on some heated springs
and some vintage work
equips which i was pleased about after driving it for a while like this
on my birthday I was talking with my gf at the time and wasnt looking and rear ended a benz :/
i thought the car was toasted the tranny wouldnt go into any gear... driver side grill was bent down headlights didnt pop up and down the headlight motors broke during the crash
so i went and got an esitmate from a local shop and they said it would cost 1800 to repair the car... me being 20 at the time didnt have the kind of cash so i called my dad and his friend who is a master with toyota's and my dad told me his friend would be glad to help on the weekends to get the car fixed and being drive able again
after removing the bumper and bending little things back the way they should (headlights grill and support bars) we had to drop the tranny to figure out why it wasnt going into gear
after all that was fixed and put back together it was ready to go!!! and the cost was only 280$ if you can believe that!!
so finally ready to drive and equipped with a 20 junkyard lip i was back on the road. Sadly my dad found a red bumper from a gts and i knew that it had to be gone so a friend and I sanded down the red bumper and painted it black with a spray can
the day after I put the freshly painted bumper on my car this guy hits me!!! He was making an unprotected left on a green and hit my driver side fender (my heart break again)
so now i am awaiting insurance to come and check out my car... insurance tells me the car is totalled and gives 3k for the car its funny casue the guy that came out thought the suspension on the car was broken because it was lowered and had camber where it was hit i tryed to tell him it was just the car but he totalled it anyways
Now with 3k in my pocket i went out on a part search and ordered me some megan racing v2 coilovers with spindles and my roommate spent 5 hours installing them for me (thank you aj) we dropped it so low i couldnt even drive expect for forward and backward lol
before i show what it looks like dropped this is what one of my heated springs looked like i cant believe i drove on these smh DONT HEAT SPRINGS!!!
I couldnt even turn in this pic so after a long days work we called it a day and left the car like this... after seeing how sunk in my wheels were and how much room i had from wheel to fender i began thinking about better fitment for the car... I went on craigslist and found a a cool guy that had a pair fo centlines 15x8.5 all around i forget the offset with some 195/55 tire for rear and 195/50 for the front i thought why not ask if he wants to trade!
after texting with the guy i found out he drive a 510 wagon and he was really cool so i told him ill trade for 50$ extra on his end so we ended up trading so now i had some work ahead of me with pulling my new fenders of to fit me wide wheels
after help from my old crew members from Onelove lunchbox curly beto and jordan we pulled the front fenders with a heat gun and a bat we couldnt get the rear done cause people had things to do so i started on the rear by myself the next day
after pulling it as much as i could with the bat and heat gun i was ready to drive it
with the rear rubbing when driving on flat ground and the front not being able to turn my wheels all the way i figured i needed new tires so i was off to the tire shop xD for 195/45/15 all around !!
i forgot i got my mini boso exhaust right after the new wheels cause i broke all my hangers off while driving it and my driveway is hell
how the car sits now
still big things to come with this little 86
im getting a motor swap very soon and paint aswell
i won't tell you what motor right now cause i want it to be a surprise to all

makin' mine look like ass. I almost feel like there's some similarities between your car and my truck. I guess it's the old red japanese vehicle on meaty centerlines. Either way keep the project alive.
