Everybody always asks for a build thread, I've never done one. I'm in my 3rd year with the car, it's been in a few stages. Right now, it's got a 1jz, single turbo, JUN by Cosworth bottom end, BWS 510's, Recaro SPG, blah blah. We're shooting for the upper 500-600hp with this set up. I just want to try to document some stuff, hopefully it's a good read. The end goal is to have my version of the perfect e36. Low, world class handling, light, massive power, clean, race ready, aggressive. Almost there, let's see where it goes...
So i bought a random diff, and i wasn't about to install it to find out it slips. It's a 3.23 which is significantly longer than my 3.91 which makes 1st and 2nd non existent. I'll spare you the whole dis assembly of everything. I'm upgrading to 3 clutches for more lock up in the diff. OEM is 25%, 3 clutches brings it up to 40%. This is a process, don't just start taking apart your diff. Everything needs to go back exactly the way it was taken apart, and everything looks identical. I'm more than happy to help you if you have any questions, but this is not a DIY, do not attempt this if you do not know what you are doing.

With the diff ready, it's time to bring it home so i can start on the new wiring. I used to run all the factory electronics like water temp, tach, climate control, all that jazz. Only thing that didn't work was the MPG meter but needless to say, fuck that noise. I started to trim the wires i didn't need like for climate control, but that was a nightmare. i decided the stock cluster, OBC and dome lights werent worth it. So i decided, the body harness and fuse box have to go and will be replaced with much cooler custom race style dash.
