Save yourself the money and hassle, and skip the chop. At least for now. Strip the interior out, get it running, figure out your suspension and wheels, and do the manual swap. After you've done all of that, if you're still hurting for more work to do, go ahead and chop it.

And on a side note, most car-chops look horrid. Especially the kind that you are considering.
