  • Project SLAM PCE: The tic tac.

Long time Lurker. Can't retrieve my old account info so i made a new one.

I'm Matt. 21, full time student, Part time worker when i'm not up at school.

Figured i'd start a build on here where things are more calm and collected, as well.

Second car, she's a 2012 Candy White GTI. So far it's a lease, and we'll see what the dealer says after 3 years when i try to give her back

This was day 1, all tiguan-like and such (Old car was on the right. Kinda-sorta-youtriedyourhardest-low Scion xb)

Within days the mod bug was hitting me. I knew it needed a suspension, and i knew it needed cosmetic work.

So, we took the front u-grill valence off, and had it color matched.

The side markers also came off, as well as my stock grille. The aftermarket grille came with a plastic notch, so i had that sprayed all at one time.

Next was the best part, more low.

Got her down as far as i could go, and the subframe was/still is banging on the axle.
I will need to notch as soon as i get back from school.

    She's static, on FK Streetlines.

Next, i added smaller accents like the Golf R LED taillights,

Oh, and the license plate too

    Fast forward a few months....

At school i had no job, and no real source of income, other than buying and reselling certain sneakers for minimal yet compounding profit, but i came up on what was to me, the steal i'd been looking for.

I was lurking through instagram a week before my break was going to start, and came across a guy selling 3SDM 0.05's for 1100 with tires, in great shape.
I told him i'd buy them the day i got back, and we settled on a time.

Extremely eager, we test fit them that day:

    photo-30

With such an aggressive fitment, i knew my fender was eventually going to be taking a beating, i quickly went and maxed out my rear camber in an attempt to avoid any damage that might occur (although the fitment was amazing IMHO)

After some adjustment, i got her to sit right, and not screw up my rear fenders any more than what had already occurred.

    photo-29

Took them off until i returned from school, with my plan in mind.
After returning a month later, my vision was about to be a reality, and i sent the wheels off for some powder.

Got them back the other day, and i was impressed with how much different they looked right off the bat. Totally fit the car.

    photo-31

And that, today, is how she sits. I will be taking them off until i return back yet again from school, because a 4 hour drive into the sticks of upstate NY will not do anything nice to these wheels.

My favorite shots now: (Yesterday's meet: 3/30)

I will update with goodies when i find them (pending people actually photog'd my car)

Not much of an update, just another pic i'd found.

I need this semester to be over so i can start working again and go lower.

Where do you go to school?

Roads aren't that bad, I've been all over NY.

Edit, car does look good though. Like the wheels.

Very nice. I almost thought you were a guy I know. He has a white r with those wheels on bags.

Cool beans, man. I think my favorite mod so far is all the stuff you did to the grill/front end. Wheels look fantastic too.

I go to school in upstate NY. Oneonta to be exact.
I live close to queens and frequently go over the cross bronx. Roads in my town aren't too nice but they're bearable. The surrounding areas suck.

I know a white GTI on tarmacs on bags. He's doing an R conversion now so maybe it's someone different.

Yeah. Not sure why VW left the U grill valence thing united grey on every color. I think this opens up the front end so much more, defining it.
                      Thank you!

I'm about 35 minutes away in Norwich. Used to go to Oneonta all the time when I lived in New Berlin. Oneonta is a pretty fun town bar wise.

It's a fun school. Cold as shit out this place until late april though, haha.

Definitely made the right choice coming here.

Although, I don't quite fit in with all the 4x4 jeeps and lifted pickup trucks

Is that white on the tires?

IDK how i feel about the splash. I never liked it, tacky looking IMO
