13x8 on a classic Mini? F*cken aye

Hey, Im Dylan and this is my Mini



Well I've been saving and I have finally paid my debts off..I still have a wedding to pay for but none the less I now have some free money to spend on the mini every now and then!
So history on the mini... Im not sure really, It is a genuine 1275GT and yes I brought it as it looks. I think I have a great starting point in regards to the look/stance of the car. I just have to get it to work with having those massive 13x8 rims and lower it as much as possible without rubbing :/
And then after I can get it to work and get it road legal I can add my own flare to it

Im ordering some goodies to help it get back on the road next week. Got me excited thinking about it so i got it out for the first time in a while. (if you know what I mean)

Shit needs a clean. looking at this picture gave me an idea to paint the centres of the rims black. Shitty photoshop and I got the idea of what it will look like.
I like it. Gonna do it. But whats the best way of painting onto chrome...? Just sand, filler, primer, top coat, clear coat?
Will update once my goodies arrive

Cheers guys! One of the reasons for me wanting to paint the rims is that the condition of the centre of a couple of them are getting a bit naf.

On the note about the flares, yeah I know! The front ones are not attached to the car by much! I will be getting some new ones the same style and whack em on. This type of flare you actually have to cut to fit the car.

Those tyres are 175 50 13's yokohama's haha the rears have the sidewall rubbed away!

Two things to note in this. I had to jack it up a bit for this. The front flare is not on, you can see why I need the biggest mini flares I can get!
I will have to alter my set up so this doesnt happen to new tyres.

Not liking the matte black at all (I don't on most cars), if it was painted a deep burgundy then I think the gold would work a lot better. Would be even cooler if it was actual gold plating though, lol.

I have a clubman too, on some 12x7's (should have some arches on it this weekend)

Nice man, I luv clubbies. PM some pictures! Wheels are 4 inch back spaced, its had to fit! haha.

Tupers, Yeah, I have cut away at the arches just need to get the rear panel beaten and then welded up.


Sooo I decided to change the flares however its the ones I brought I have decided against.
The fitment and clearance on the rears didnt work out. Pity, they looked good.



Got a new exhaust!


Oh and the most important part !


New flares should show up tomorrow, I will get them mocked up and then its off to panel and paint
