I'm afraid that i couldn't get clearance with the RHs on as they are 18s and i didn't want to raise the car. So i had to go for 17s, and i decided to buy my old merc wheels back.
If some more interesting wheels pop up in the future, then ill get them bought
Managed to fit my gearknob tonight, cut away at the plastic in the arches for more clearance too

Where did the RH's go? The looked way better then the merc wheels. Rest of the car looks great!

got my car back last night. haven't got any good pics of it yet though.

front bumper smoothed, and Mercedes ML wheels now fitted.
will get better pics when i can

they are made my RH, genuine 3 piece split rims, 18inch, 9.5s on the back and 8.5s on the front. fully polished

Im thinking about getting some of these 3sdms, in 17's if possible, 9.5s on the back and 8.5s on the front..
then use the BBS wheels are winter/dailys

it was then i wanted to get it looking a bit tidier.

did a full interior clean, including seats out.



I then moved on to the engine, and have since done the following..

removed A/C system fully including pump
relocated quite a lot of wiring (even thought it still looks a mess!)
painted cover and various little bits gold
removed sound deadening from back of bay
steam cleaned everything!




I wanted to update the interior a bit, so bought a sat nav, screen and plastic centre console..





The latest additions are..

New MAF sensor
New Spark plugs
New Drop links
New Strut top bearings
205/40/17 tires on the front (and tracking)
New centre section of exhaust
Armrest fitted
Amber side lights installed
110mm rear springs fitted, coilovers upfront
camber front and back


Next plans are to get 195/40/17s alround, and lower the front a bit more.
The problem is that i have to go over speed bumps into work so until i move,, i cant change this!!
25mm spacers for the back, but tuck the front.

then i might be getting a colour change to a graphite/dark grey colour.

let me know what you guys think anyway! any ideas would be appreciated too!!

firstly, wanted to post some pics up of my old car.. was an Audi A3 2.0 tdi, on 17s, and static. did have FK silverline x coilovers and genuine bbs ch's too.

Snapped the cambelt goodbye engine! scrapped the car in the end. was possessed!
all images are coming off facebook btw, so not the best quality!













miss the car like crazy, but it owed me so much money, and i got a lot back when i split it for bits.

on to different things i guess!


Right! so the new project

I wanted something to drive around in the summer! with the roof down, and after seeing the many threads on here with soft tops, i had to get one.

Didnt really want the usual BMW 3 series, as the interior didnt really agree with me.
So i went for a Vauxhall Astra Cabriolet, Edition 100. Only 2500 of these were made.
Limited items include the BBS wheels, Heated leather seats.
comes with standard equipment like cruise control, traction control etc.

Rough around the edges, and already thinking of a colour change..

Day i bought it, i had to buy some coilovers!!


Then the lowering began! at around 11.30pm one cold friday night!


Couldnt get full lock due to the 215/45/17s, so had to set the camber all the way in!


wouldn't go lower at the back due to the springs. ordered some 110mm springs from a Corsa to go on.
