The 1972 Beetle AKA The B*tch

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here. My names Martin, I'm from the north of Scotland and 17 years old. This is my first car which is a 1972 VW Beetle.
This is what it looked like when we picked it up January 2012


She was pretty rotten when we got her





There was quite a few holes in the drivers side floor too so we just replaced it



2 new heater channels and floorpan and the rear quarter





I done all the bodyfiller, primer and paint myself and my dad done all the welding





My paint skills are pretty bad but its just a daily car and i don't really have the money for a respray.

When you're 17 you have to have a cool sound system



Dropped spindles and a narrowed beam were fitted



And then 2 splines lower in the rear



I know some of you don't like stickers but I couldn't resist



And that bring us to how it is currently i have ordered new smaller tyres for the front so i can go lower because it needs to be lower, quite a bit haha
Anyway any comments are welcome and thank you!

Thanks, yeah I know the stickers aren't really to everyone's taste but I find them quite funny

Low and Slow sticker is fine I could do without the other two but to each his own, everyone has a sticker phase. Clean beetle though good luck with everything.

Thanks, yeah I just bought stickers whenever I was bored but I'll no doubt take them off at some point

Where'd you find that low 'n' slow sticker?
Also what are your interior and eingine plans/what do they currently look like.

Cant wait to get mine lowered.

I found it on eBay somewhere haha I have a set of recaros from a Opel Monza sitting ready to go in but I found that I sat a little too low in them to for my liking but I'll put them in eventually but currently the interior is completely stock and so is the engine, I will put some photos up for you in a couple of days do it man! I haven't actually driven the car yet as I haven't passed my test so I can't comment on how it rides

Thanks! Yeah I have ordered new tyres so that the front can go lower and so that they clear the headlight buckets the front 2 are my dads wheels haha but I am planning on just spraying the wheels black after I get the tyres fitted

Yeah, most of last year haha but its definatly worth it, I mainly just put then on for the laugh but they'll be off soon no doubt haha
