  • slammed 260z restoration

    hey guys
heres a thread of my new project its a 1978 datsun 260z.
i started liking these when i saw yuta's 240z about 6 months ago that soon turned into my favorite car. so i started saving up and soon had around 2800 quid to spend on one (quite alot for a 17 year old). i went to view a couple and they were incredibly rusty and still out my price range ! soo i posted a wanted add on the z club for one closer to my price range. a few days later i got an email saying a guy had one in his garage and i could have it for FREE! so a week later i went up to get it. 3 and a half hours later i was in his garage. i couldnt believe my eyes this car was still pretty rusty but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as some of the datsuns i have seen advertised for 4 grand. here are some pictures

Looking forward to seeing what becomes of this. Hopefully it involves flares.

Also, are those solar panels just for your garage? Or do they do the house as well?

I am definitely excited for this. I'm setting myself a goal of buying one of these in the future. Can't believe you got this for free though.

Subbed before the rust removing starts

What a guy for giving you the Z for free, I can't wait to see how this goes. I'd love one.

Excited to see this! I absolutely love these cars. I'm sure you've looked, but what does the underside look like? If the body is in that bad of shape, I'd hate to see the frame and lower rockers.

Go for it and make yourself proud. This will be a car for a lifetime if done right. But it won't be easy though. If you ever want to burn it because it fights you hard: Hit the bed for the night. Next morning will be better.
