  • 85 BMW E30 euro bumper from Cape Town

Yo names Kyle I made a little intro thread a few weeks back and decided on doing a build thread now so here it goes.

Ive been inspired by so many stanceworks members and there builds, the work and dedication that alot of stanceworks members put into there cars really amazes me and its those people that have a made me decide to start trying to put my on work into my car, truth is Ive never really worked on cars growing up dont get me wrong Ive always loved cars just never took the time to get under the hood of one but at the age of 22 Ive started getting a interest in this thing called 'STANCE' that brings us together and im going to see where it takes me.

BMW e30 2door with chrome bumpers
    Sapphirre Blue(looks silver to me)
    full service history
got it on 47,000km(33,000miles) currently on 54,500km

this is the breakdown of what ive done thus far and i can't seem to find pics of when i got the car.

the first things i done was was heat the springs( yes believe it or not the car was higher) and sprayed the steelies matt black. crappy phone pics sorry defo's need to invest in a camera too.

then i bought a set of these with the tyres for a good price, they are Lenso BSX(BBS reps) 16x7.5with195/45's & 16x9with 205/45 not sure of the offsets

the front wheel wouldn't fit because of the offsets so i bought some aluminum and went through to my dads workshop to make some hubcentric spacers

decided ill try out some roofracks so went to a local auto spares and bought universal gutter racks and went through to a wood supplier.

after a few coats of lin seed oil and yes i know i drilled 2 holes in the one, mistake with measurements

was bored so wanted to check what the car will look like with wide wheels infront too and it looks pretty good

as for the height of the car i ordered a set of BC coilovers type RA with 8k/10k spring rates( i daily the car so dont want aggresive spring rates) which should arrive in the next 2weeks will post images of the install when they arrive, i will be doing the install myself so we will see how that pans out

      Other things to be done:
      arches need be rolled
need to refinish the lips on the wheels and thinking maybe i should powder coat the centers a light gold
      exhaust upgrade
and will just see as the build continues who knows where it will end up

Thats a nice idea, you could always make some samples and try selling them on some forum like this
              You would find your customer
I would like to find 4x100 -> 5x120 adapters.. But with our prices even 100$ is a lot of money so i gues its imposible for me

you heated springs? Good thing you ordered coils, I did the same thing and it ruined my struts. Looks good though, i love the new wheels.

I drove on them for about 2 months and it bent one of my struts.

I think my strut bent because the guy who heated them may have accidently heated the strut too, i dont know but im stoked to see it on coils.

well that explains it, my struts will require some cutting and welding once the coils arrive anyway

                              small update:

                              so these arrived today

but me thinking im clever looked up on the internet to get the size of my struts instead of just measuring them like a normal person, well anyway all the info told me its a 45mm strut and sunday i decided to check and it was 51mm so i got hold of some 45mm struts at a junk yard will have to get them welded in and put this thing on the ground asap
