So, since this is my first euro project and i will actually be keeping this car forever i figured i would share it with the world. my style and ideas have been changing constantly and Im not exactly made of money so im going with whatever pops up and what might look like this car can pull off. even though almost every e28 out there looks the same. i REALLY want mine to stand out and look different than everyone else's.
so after about a 6 month constant search for an e28 i came upon this one at a local insurance auction.
1986 535i auto with 138k miles (wanted the manual but this one came up so i snatched it)
all my pics are from an iPhone so i apologize for the quality!

so basically i was able to drive it home from the auction with a rough idle and wabbly wheels.
i thought the primary damage was the pass side because the doors had huge dents in them.
so the first thing i did was change my intake boot since it was causing my engine to idle all weird. after that i peeked underneath and found that my stabilizer arm was dented.

since i didnt have much time i just figured id take it off and straighten it.

that didnt work out as expected
so i figured that my wheels were not balanced and that was the reason for my wheels to wabble once i start going past 45... nope
so once i started looking into it more i realized that almost every thing that pivoted in my suspension was lose and worn out. i bought a suspension repair kit off ebay and replaced my
control arms, stabilizers, pitman arms, tie rods etc.

after that it sailed smoothly on the road.
so i cruised it over to my apartment and began with the little stuff. here are a couple shots with my buddy who im hoping will also be posting a thread soon.
.

as you can see my rear sagged a bit. so i had to do something about that.

so i put on my new h&r springs in the only.. for now...just to level it out a bit. this is how it looked

i got a bit tired of the chrome. every car i had before i always murdered it out. but since this is a very classy ride i still wanted to have that sport feel to it. so i came across some shadow line tape on ebay.. wasnt the easiest thing to do. since the trim on these things are so curvy it was actually quite challenging. so i only did my drivers side.. and ill be ordering some dipmycar stuff soon

so like couple months down road i bought some wheels for super cheap but they had such low profile tires i didnt want to put them on. so i needed to do my drop. my dream for coilovers is still a dream, but cutting springs is always an option
i didnt have much time to do all 4 so i just took my new h&r springs and cut the rears.
this is a pic after three coils were cut off the rear springs..and i had to leave it for another two weeks

while waiting for the weekend to come up so that i could cut my fronts springs. i came across a yakima roof rack about 60 miles away.. you cant go wrong for 70 bucks from a grandpa with ski attachments. muaha.
i also decided to stop by a local german junk yard.. and i found this beauty!

so i snatched the doors!! ..and a wood grain shift knob from a 95 525 and got to used my rack
sorry something happen to my phone now all my pics are blurry

now this job was obviously not designed for one person to do but im not a fan of asking for help..so i suffered for hours!! these doors were tough!

also the stupid pin would not budge so i had to get out the jigsaw out. since i was already committed to finishing the job and my boss is not suppose to know im using the machine shop as my personal body shop..so.. i cut it off..
but then i replaced them.

so after that suffering was over. i went straight over to my dads garage and decided to do more cutting and get this thing as low as i could but make it. but still have class.

once it was low enough i decided it was time to part with the front bench. as many would call a bumper. im gonna leave the back one though because it will be quite handy in the summer

i began to grow fond of the bottle caps
but i already had a set of corvette wheels waiting for me so i waited another week or two and started looking for spacers.. so i bought the smallest ones you can find..

see what i did there?
next was to get my fenders rolled and well... finally test fit the wheels i had waiting.. this is what it looked like..
THESE WHEELS ARE TEMPORARY! i just got them super cheap so i decided to use them..

once again sorry for the quality. and this thing is not even half way done. still a lot more in stored for this car... obviously this isnt Jeremy's or Mikes or Willis's e28... but within the years. hopefully it will get better and better.
thanks for reading!
