True, but only if you have a euro. The us versions of these cars have headlights are totally sealed and you can't take apart because some stupid DOT regulations that do nothing and make no sense. [/I]
You can install the cruddy dj auto euro lenses on your US spec face lift headlamps, but technically speaking they are not DOT legal, as you loose your side reflector.
By the way half way through 2002 is around when the headlights switched to permaseal glue. So the OP's headlights are most def not open-able if original.
They are definitely original and didn't look like they were ever going to be opened. But it didn't matter because I knew I could buff em back to life because I truly **** all the aftermarket options. BMW did it best in '03.
