I have been working on getting this car for over 3 years. I first found it about 4 years ago then about 3 years ago I started inquiring about buying it. Old lady said it was her daugher in laws and gave me her sons #. I called several times but never a call back. Stopped again about a year later she called her son I spoke with him they wanted to sell maybe but wanted a lot of cash. I offered half. Spoke to him a few more times and then not again for another year. I txt him and upped the offer a little. Nothing. Last week in one more effort I txt him and his wife hit me back. Told me they would take my offer and I could pick it up.
Its a 1982 Jetta Diesel Coupe. No Sunroof with factory Air Con.
Ascot Grey with black deluxe interior.
2 owner car
114,000 miles
I gotta say when I first looked at the car it was better. Sitting for 8-10 years took its toll and the last few years really didn't help.
Car is pretty solid though. Needs some rust work on the drivers floor ( minor ) Also lots of spots of surface rust all over prevent me from saving the factory paint which I wanted to do.
Got it home tonight and got it running right away. Runs great but needs lots of mechanical work.

A minor project turned into a big project. I wanted to strip the interior so I can clean it and get it back in. Ended up stripping the car so I can get it ready for paint. 1 more night of work and I should be ready to start bodywork and start the rebuilding.

Anyone Have a Jetta Rear Panel?
Passengers side floor out then braced. Work on fitting the new one tomorrow.

Here is a pic I took to try and show the color its a hard color to photograph.

Also started buying some parts.
