yup, knew a guy who bought a brand new F350 for 8 grand, original owner said the motor was blown, he towed it home and put a new battery in it, fired right up, problem solved.

Ok, so we had a chance to go run out and snap some pics before it started pouring, car is really dirty, so please excuse the appearance. Spacers are definitely going to be needed, I was going to order them before I put them on, but I think i will end up converting the car to lug studs, as the wife wants pink lug bolts Anyways, here's the pics!

The front does tuck, forgot to turn the wheel back straight during the pics....

To clarify, its awesome that you bought the car for so cheap, I love finds like this, shit I bought my 87' 735i for a hundred bucks. And yeah, if you're selling something and you don't know anything about it and it results in you selling it for way less than you should have, that is absolutely your fault.
The thing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth is you said you "got if for a seal" and "
He had a bad water pump and i was able to convince him it was a blown head gasket...nuff said".
More or less implying that you convinced him that the car was in a conduction worse than what the guy had originally presumed, and that's why you got it for so cheap.

Its absolutely okay in my mind to not correct a seller of a car when they have mistaken ideas about it. However, using your knowledge of cars to be deceptive to a seller and convince him that a problem that isn't there exists not morally ok in my book.

Obviously my knowledge of the situation is pretty limited, I'm just operating based on a sentence or two. Its largely a matter of how you worded it honestly. You might have bought the car thinking the head was possibly blown... If i bought a car not running and blowing white smoke that would be my first guess, and hell that would cause me to be willing to pay alot less for it (obviously )

Sorry if i come off as combative i just... I dunno sometimes I go all internet superhero mode. I don't mean it personally or anything. For the record, I think you and your wife's cars are super cool and this 190 is insanely clean, the light blue wheels work really well with the white/tan/grey color scheme.

Hell, if I ever find a woman dumb enough to marry me and we end up having a pair of old slammed benzo's I'd be a pretty happy man :]

It's all good man, if it makes you feel better, he was asking 2900, I talked him down to 2200, so....I didn't rob him... Not like we paid 900 bucks for it. If its any consolation, the car still shuts down every now and then at idle. I also paid a mechanic to do a compression test to make sure it wasn't blown, just to be sure.

Thanks for the feed back though! I love feedback, negative or positive!

Yeah, its all good don't worry about it
I was thinking you got it for like 900 haha, I would have talked him down from 2900 too honestly.

Oh and something that I've noticed with all cars that I've had that have been sitting for very long periods of time is that they often feel better and run better after you put some miles on them and stress them. I'd do an Italian tune up on it since it was driven so little... just do some wot pulls on the highway, I'll bet it will run better afterwards

Damn, so jealous of your wife's car and what you did with it. Literally was my exact dream build through the summer/winter of 2012-13. Just couldn't find any decent 190E's in my area.

Hope to see it at H20I.
