  • Smooth & Bagged MK6.5 Ford Fiesta

    Hey Stanceworks...

I appreciate this is a little different to the Mercs, BMWs etc that are on here, but just thought I'd post up my project.

It's a 2008 MK6.5 Fiesta. The reason I chose to go with a Fiesta, is because it's my first proper car, the insurance is cheap as the engine is small and at the time, (2 years ago) there wasn't many of them on the UK show scene.

When I first got the car, it was completely standard:

Due to the insurance not allowing modifications, I had to wait 5 months until I could change insurers.

5 months down the line, I changed insurers and got a set of FK Highsport Coilovers and a staggered set of Dezent Cup alloys. 16x7.5 ET35 &16x9 ET25.

Also added various other 'tat' like stickers, Sportex Exhaust - at the time everyone loved it, now looking at the photos, I think it looks horrendous

Couple of months went by, and in November 2011 I booked the car in to have its front arches rolled. It was at this point I started looking into having the bumpers smoothed.

I then took the plunge and booked it in to have smooth bumpers, smooth boot (badges & lock) & smooth bonnet (washer jets deleted).

However, I kept adding things along the way (woops) and it came out of the bodyshop in January 2012 looking like this:

    - Smooth Front Bumper w/ fogs and gloss black plastics
    - Smooth Wings (side repeaters deleted)
    - Smooth Bonnet (washer jets deleted)
    - Smooth Roof (aerial deleted)
    - Smooth Boot (badges & lock deleted)
    - Smooth Rear Bumper
    - Rolled Front Arches
    - Flared Rear Arches
    - Wheel Refurb in BMW Alpine White w/ subtle Red Pearl
    - Custom Wing Mirrors w/ indicators
    - Colour Coded Plastics

I ran it like this for the majority of 2012, however it was bagged at the beginning of September, just in time for Players.

Running Havair struts and bags, Air Zenith 4-way management, AVS controls & gauge.

It's now back in the bodyshop for some fairly 'major' bodywork, in time for 2013 UK show season!

Thanks for reading, I'll keep this updated!

                  Cheers everyone!

It's having some other trick bits & bobs done on it at the moment.

Really must start on the interior soon, it's standard at the moment except a Momo 280 steering wheel.

Any issues with the ESP due to the staggered setup? I always hestitated to get staggered because I fear that this could cause my ESP go havok when having a little fun on outback roads.

I've had no problems at all... As far as I know, my car doesn't have ESP...
