Finishing a friend's build that didn't get the chance too. R.I.P BLACKLIST

I've been working/going to school so my time is limited when i have a chance to work on things. Mostly weekends only. I had the heads sent out to be CNC'D. Decided the valve covers could use some clean up..



Took out all of the bolt, studs, and seals.



One side sandblasted to show the difference.



I forgot to take pictures when i was actually powder coating them and had them baking in the oven. But here is how they look for now. I will upgrade to ARP hardware shortly..

Thanks for the comments guys. Speaking of the tires, i think the rears are going to need some new rubber lol.


the rear toe end links on one side being bent. If you look closely in the picture, the right side toe rod is tweaked/slightly bent.




so i decided to pull them off...



GForce makes an aftermarket set of gto's...



decided i would rather fabricate my own arms.



Solid forged steel zinc plated heim joint for one end.



Bushing pressed in.



Spherical heim joints for the other end of the rod.


Got some aluminum extrusion to make the sleeves on the lathe.



Before de-burring the sleeves.

Okay, I love this.

Had a friend pass unexpectedly and was afforded the opportunity to rebuild his car for his parents as it was in an array of parts at the time. Was difficult. Was also very humbling honor to do in my opinion.

Kudos to you for taking on the task, VERY impressed with you taking it a step further and making sure the car stayed with someone that cared for it as much as he did.

I am not a subscriber to forum threads, however this one has my attention, if that means anything to you at all.

It means a lot to me actually when people say their subscribed. I've tried to follow what my friend wanted to build not what "I" wanted. He had a lot of plans in his old threads, so i'm following those along with what we talked about before he passed...Thanks again man!

Ordered some OEM GTO floor mats



Mounts were kind of nasty. So i cleaned them up and put a fresh coating on them..


My clutch came in the mail today. Still need my slave cylinder and pilot bearing.



Finally got my heads back from CNC. Exhaust port.

Subbed for the awesome looking GTO, the quality of workmanship and the touching story.

I'm currently restoring my grand father's old workshop to use a studio and I swear sometimes I get the feeling that he's standing there watching. Kudos to you for doing such a nice thing for your friend
