  • Forester S Turbo - To Stance or not to Stance

Got this as a trade for my old car as I needed something automatic and able to carry camera equipment and a Malamute so when this popped up I grabbed it.

It's a Subaru Forester S Turbo automatic, running around 260bhp. Going to be used as a photo/dog/drift support bus for my mates

Wheels on it are awful with the rubber bands but....

So this is how it sat when I bought it, didn't have any money to put it on the road or start work on it, so I decided to sticker it up with my sites stickers and a few more things.

So after thinking about it I got these wheels from a friend and did abit of photoshopping. But after driving it I doubt I'll be lowering it much, too much fun on the back roads to slam...

Picking up the wheels for some test fitting and to get the tyres taken off in prep for some meaty tyres.

They are 18x8 and 18x9 Sterns. Don't know much else other than that.

First day out, took it down some backroads and got it a bit dirty...

God I need big tyres lol

Sooo, what are your plans then? Just slightly lower?
The only thing lower than my standards is my truck.

    Build thread!!!

Slighlty lower, big beefy tyres, rear tints, yellow fogs. Roof rack/basket for carrying drift spares. And maybe try and boost it up to 300bhp as well.

Interrior wise probably brides up front, tho I'll need to swap my heated seat elements into them.

JDM Front grill, hella supertones and eventually full STI kit all round. It may end up getting plastidipped camo green or matte black for a few weeks as well during the summer.

These two are my inspirations, tho not sure if I will go this low in the end.:

All i can say is that when i got my car, I claimed it wouldn't go lower than "legal" height,
its rails are now 3in from the ground? Sure, its not low you say, but still scrapes...

Moral of this story, you will lower your car.. or else!

by the way, how can i get my hands on this sticker? it shal sit next to my mr sparkle sticker..

Dude that sticker is sweet! I'm a member of the bearding community too, I'm gonna be going to some comps coming up. Btw careful with those offset widths, subie awd doesn't like different tire diameters at all, just make sure you get the aspect ratios and overall diameter right.

"Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

Yeh I've been reading into that, and if I put the same tyres on both wheels things should be grand lol. Been bouncing it off a few subaru heads and we think we have it sorted.

If you put the same tires on both wheels the rears will have more stretch than the fronts and have a smaller overall diameter, but maybe not enough to matter. Anyway, good luck! My friend just put stock wrx suspension in his foz and it came out really nice, about a 2 inch drop iirc. Enough to be noticed but still very driveable. Coilovers for a wrx will fit your foz just fine and give you stupid amounts of low in the process.

Im pretty sure you could throw on some stock wrx springs for some cheap easy lows. Won't get you that low, but it definitely should be an inch or two

02-05 wrx struts with lowered front springs would get you decently low for cheap
