Man, those wheels are magic. I would leave the headlight trim chrome...unless you've already gone through with the black. Also, do you think you will try the fenders again if the opportunity comes?

They're still chrome and will more than likely stay that way. As for the fenders I would like to go with flares but I have no means to do metal ones and no one makes direct fit flares for my model. The closest thing that fits are Datsun 240Z flares and I feel like it's getting harder to find them for a decent price. All the low budget stuff is a copy of a copy of a reproduction etc. If I stumble across a decent set that isn't paper thin or a poor reproduction I'd love to grab them up and use them on this project.Originally posted by Tom Cruise View PostMan, those wheels are magic. I need to correct my previous statement that I might be able to just roll/pull. Got the wheels in today, definitely gonna have to run flares like I originally plannedOriginally posted by Tom Cruise View PostAlso, do you think you will try the fenders again if the opportunity comes?
Also going to have to look into getting a set of blocks for the rear until I can find someone local to de-arch my leafs, and need to find a set of AE86 front coils. I'd really like to wait until this summer when I can get everything to bag it but we'll see. I'll ride 4x4 status for a while and weigh my options.

Long time no update! I finally got most of the car finished and assembled. Cut the arched out today and got the flares on. For some reason the seller sent me a mixed set. The front are normal VG flares while the rears are the 4in. extended VG flares. I might need spacers but I'll wait for that until after I get the rear lowered. If there are any other okies here going to coffee and cars in march let me know. Here's some quick driveway shots. Hopefully I'll get some better pics tomorrow if weather permits.

Despite the fact that I think this thing deserves some super dope, real vintage wheels (although your reasoning is sound),
I have to admit, it looks fucking awesome.
Lower it more, and you've got a real looker.Originally posted by electricalbox12 inches of goodness!

Yeah I'd love to put a set of watanabes on it or some SSRs but I can't swing $600 a rim plus tires for a daily at this point in my life. I also have a bad habit of rotating through cars about every six months. Who knows, if I end up keeping this one for a year or so I might look into getting some "legit/dope" wheels. I'd rather invest in custom leafs and front coils at this point....maybe a SBC or SBF in the near futureOriginally posted by Strawhat View PostDespite the fact that I think this thing deserves some super dope, real vintage wheels (although your reasoning is sound),
